Bluebird, wouldn't you agree that self defense is a natural right? Ie if someone was to threaten your life, it is only natural to defend yourself?

I am neither an idiot nor stupid.
I agree. However, you are taking a very stuborn, beligerant stance then chastising others for recipricating.

Wisconsin Sheriff David Clarke kicks some liberal butt at NRA convention

Wisconsin Sheriff David Clarke will surely have a target on his back now after his superb comments at the annual NRA convention in Indianapolis. As reported by The Blaze, Clarke revealed the seven words he would add to the Second Amendment: “Keep your hands off our guns, dammit.” What Sheriff Clarke again demonstrates is for conservatives it’s nothing to do with race — it’s all about individual character.

His comments about amending the Constitution were aimed at former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, who said in his recent book that he would change the Second Amendment by adding five words in the middle: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms when serving in the militia shall not be infringed.”

“My reaction was, ‘What!’” Clarke said, adding, ”Just what part of ‘shall not be infringed’ does Justice Stevens not understand?” That comment drew another standing ovation. But he wasn’t done there, going on to say he was sick of the Second Amendment being the ”bastard child of the Bill of Rights.” “The armed citizen made America free and the armed citizen will keep America free!” Clarke said, also calling the armed citizen the “great equalizer” and giving examples of three such instances in his area. “Those firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens saved people’s lives,” he added, declaring he “damn well meant it” when he took his oath to defend the Constitution.

I always say that an armed person is a citizen, and an unarmed one is a subject — I believe Sheriff Clarke would agree.

I first met Sheriff David Clarke Jr. in 2011 when we held our Black Conservative Forum in the House Small Business committee room. I knew then this was a leader. A man of resolve and principle who is unwavering in his commitment to upholding the rule of law and justice — in other words the complete opposite of Attorney General Eric Holder.

What Sheriff Clarke obviously now understands is that he’s a target for the liberal progressive racist Left. However, I don’t think he’ll be losing sleep over folks like “pajama boy” calling him names. Just look at the image he cast as he stood at that podium — an image that would make Vladimir Putin pay attention. What Sheriff David displays is that which needs to be restored, not just in the black community, but across America: strength and might, combined with resilient competence, commitment, and conviction.

Sheriff Clarke has indeed earned a target, and it is a target he will undoubtedly wear with pride and honor. Slowly but surely there is a growing number of Spartans stepping forward in America — color and gender not of concern — their patriotic warrior heart is all that matters.

And so Sheriff David Clarke Jr. took the stage and like a true man of Sparta told the gun control liberal Left, Molon Labe!

Not funny....Why should a woman of that age have to carry a gun to her employment? How many times over the years has she faced a gun, simply to earn a living. If that is freedom, I want nothing like it. What an awful way to live...Thugs have learned they get what they want generally speaking with a gun.

Two off the street, an army of them coming up!!

Ooooooooooh oooh, have to differ on this one. I rather suspect she didn't "carry a gun to her employment". I would bet the gun was already there. I'm a great believer in times of adversity in using whatever means are available to improve the situation. Seems that is what happened here. Two creeps are in jail. It doesn't get any better than that!:)

Just as funny as these!! It doesn't justify the many innocent people shot at or killed. I know this may be a very silly observation in the opinion of some, but violence tends to beget violence. You accidently offend a driver down here, don't even look over, better to pretend to let them think you were too stupid to notice!! And boy are there a lot of pretenders here.

It works in the larger format as well. The US uses an aggressive stance in dealing with those countries that offend them. The violence against them has not diminished but become much greater.

She is working in a gun store, I don't think she is anti-gun......in fact, my guess would be it is a family business, and she is family.

You would of course, prefer that these two thugs have her at their mercy.

Uh huh That's sensible.

In case you haven't noticed, thugs get guns anywhere, including in Canada.

And yes, it is funny.

Reminds me of the time a crackhead in Halifax walked around a Brinks truck outside a 7-11 at night, and tried to hold it up with a knife 10 feet from 2 armed guards refilling an ATM. They just arrested him, no problem.

Or the guy in Arizona that walked around a police car to go inside and attempt to rob a gun store. In Arizona. With police officers inside. Everybody inside shot him. And I mean everyone. Police, employees, customers. Multiple, multiple gunshot wounds. The coroner couldn't figure out who shot him where. Should have been ruled a suicide. Seriously.

You can be a victim or....

Saving the world 1 Glock at a time.

Personally I prefer Smith & Wesson and don't understand why people would rather become victims than be able to defend themselves.

My friend here in Canada had an "unregistered" handgun. A guy was breaking into his pickup truck, trying to steal it. My friend walked out with his hand gun, pointed it at the car thief and asked him if he wanted to reconsider his decision.

I am sure the last thing he had to worry about is the car thief calling the police..

Jason, kept his truck for another month.. it was stolen from a WalMart parking lot while he was shopping.

So what you are saying is that waving a gun around saved the guy's truck for a month. Better to have left it to the thief and gotten a brand new one the first time around. LOL my insurance will give me a newer vehicle than I had in case of theft or a crash. Since my driving record is excellent, my insurance is very reasonable. Would have cost less than the cost of the gun and jail term if he had to use the gun. Not really very logical.

By the way that " you
tube advert" for buying a gun is so unrealistic as to be laughable.

The point was he was able NOT to be become a victim.. when the guy was on his property stealing his truck.

I just thought it was funny that 1 month later they stole his truck.. he put a lot of extras into it. Slip tank, raised it about 6 inches, wider tires and chrome rims.

9 time out of 10 you do not have to use the gun, it's basically a deterrent, against being robbed, raped or worse.

Also, what insurance company you with that is going to give you a brand new truck, plus the $10,000 in improvements.

Also, why would he necessarily go to jail??

I remember when you could pack a handgun in the woods, and if they caught you, you got a $50 fine.....and your gun back (as long as it was registered)

Now it is three years mandatory in prison to be caught with a restricted weapon anywhere that you are not licensed to have it.

Your buddy needs to be careful.

Define that, "anywhere that you are not licensed to have it." Anywhere in Canada.

So an unregistered handgun in your own home?? Also I heard it was 5 years mandatory.

Further, I keep mine in a safety deposit box in Shelby, Montana. I never asked Jason, but I don't think you can even shoot an unregistered gun at the range in Canada.

I heard about that Sudbury guy, a loaded gun while driving drunk..

In Canada Just Holding A Gun Gets You THREE YEARS in jail Minimum!

BTW, If you get caught with an unregistered gun in NYC, it's a mandatory 2 yr sentence

I'm sure in Canada there are plenty of unregistered hand guns, and Canada would have to build several new prisons to hold the population.. I'm sure most keep them for self defense, then there are the Hell's Angels, petty criminals, drug dealers too.

Personally, I think the laws are stupid.. I know a guy in Southern Saskatchewan that has a false wall in his basement, and behind the wall it's looks like a military depot. None are registered.

He regularly goes out on his property and shoots hay bails for target practice.
