Brought to you by the guy who believes and posted this as well...

That explains a lot now doesn't it.
Yep. "Materialism." "Native people." Sure signs this was written by a white guy.

Or it coulda been one of us. We have a cottage industry in making up "native wisdom" and selling it to gullible Shemanese.

Wanna buy Tecumseh's bones? Got 'em in the trunk.

Ah this pipeline to the US crap is just that... Crap.

Why go through all of this when they clearly don't want it? Send a pipeline directly to China and/or Russia via the Arctic then turn to the US afterwards and say

"Sorry, took too long and we hopped into bed with someone else."

Define "they." Would that be the "they" who do want it and just turned the Senate over to the party that wants it?

Wait, so Republicans had a majority in both the house and the senate and they still couldn't pass this bill?

They don't have a majority in the Senate. The new Senate, featuring the group elected in November, will begin in January.

It's generally a good idea to hold your laughter until you understand what you're laughing about.

Then it makes me laugh even more that they wouldn't just wait until January.

Relax.

I am not an expert on American politics but now I know so thank you for educating me.

Why didn't they just wait until January then?

Ah. Perceptive question. It's politics. The Republiklans pushed the vote to 1) show their base they're all energetic and gettin' down to business, 2) embarrass the Dumbocrats into holding the vote or being declared a "do-nothing" party, 3) hurt Dumbocrat Mary Landrieu of Louisiana in an upcoming run-off election, and 4) continue their admirable record of showmanship over governance.

I'm good with it. Since everything Congress does is wrong, I'm perfectly willing to pay them to bicker, make grave pronouncements, hold meaningless symbolic votes, and generally fart around while adults get some work done.

Because the Democrats were trying to help Sen. Mary Landrieu in a run off race in Louisiana.. truth be told.

But T-Bones a Democrat won't tell you facts. ;)

I guess we will be seeing Obama pull out his veto in January then?

I guess we will see Obama get impeached when the Conservative House and Senate do a proper IRS scandal investigation.

Kicked from office in disgrace.

I'm not sure. There are a lot of conflicting pressures on President Ebola on this issue. First, there's his own stated policy that he favours all energy, green, brown, thick tarry toxic black, equally. Second, his own administration has basically said KXL is a good idea, though not very enthusiastically.

On the other side, many of his base oppose KXL. But he's term-limited, so why should he care?

I think he should sign the bill, say lots of nice things about jobs and continuing to expand green energy, and save his powder for another fight. The one thing that's as sure as death and taxes is there will be another fight.

America needs it. I don't want their oil flowing from ND and MT over my nice clean potash and oil and off to the Arctic.

Democrat Harry Reid is the Majority Leader in the Senate... He let the Senate vote to make an attempt to save Democrat Senator Landrieu who is in a run off in Louisiana.

A clueless laugh. Lovely!

since a vote for KXL would have presumably, as you say, "saved her"... along with 'letting the vote happen', why didn't Reid work to ensure/secure her that final vote?
