since a vote for KXL would have presumably, as you say, "saved her"... along with 'letting the vote happen', why didn't Reid work to ensure/secure her that final vote?

Because he has competing priorities. He's trying to walk a tightrope between the Dumbocrats who have to vote against KXL or be abandoned by their supporters, and Sen. Landrieu, whose constitutents mostly favour KXL. He hoped that by bringing the vote, she could vote in favour of KXL in an attempt to gain support in Louisiana, whilst the other Dumbocrats could vote against it in an attempt to gain or retain support in their own states.

That and, as petros said, he can't. The Senate is a notoriously unruly body. Not having the Brit/Can parliamentary system, our politicians are much more independent.

Clear now Wally?

To back up what was explained to you, my two Democrat Massachusetts Senators voted Nay. Massachusetts is a liberal Blue State and they get to tell the Massachusetts voters that they voted the KXL down. They'll vote No next time to show their base they are fighting hard against big oil and the Republicans.

Everyone wins...

Except Landrieu. She will most likely get bounced from the U.S Senate in the run off.

And I said "attempt to save her" ... not "saved her"

Geez... give your head a shake would you. You don't have to lie every post.

The same people who think there is a turtle floating through space with dirt on it's back.

The same people have also been known to bleach creeks to catch spawning salmon. The same people are also legally permitted to hunt for sustenance with high powered rifles with lights attached.

The DemoRapingChildrencrats gave her all the support they could. It probably won't be enough.

given the current vote, it's a long way to realize a 2/3 majority. He may have said it before, but just a few days ago I finally heard Obama state the most salient point in a media scrum. From an American perspective, KXL offers nothing to the U.S.; it was, it is and it will remain a vehicle for Canada/oil companies to export refined tarsands sludge from those U.S. Gulf Coast refineries on through to Asia.

When did we get tarsands? Perhaps you are thinking of the Tar Pits in California.

Start looking for leases in the Mackenzie Valley...it's next and YK wants pipelines.

They can pipe it north to ships. Afterall the Arctic is now ice free.

I didn't make you anything. I had nothing to do with a US decision. I just like seeing you and the other rapers and pillagers get excited for nothing. The world trend is moving away from oil but that is not what is going to break you dinosaurs in the long run. Your faith in an unsustainable future might. Grab what you can now and who cares about future generations. Greed will be the death of you guys.

IF you are still cashing your pension cheque you are one of the rape and pillagers. No different than buying blood diamonds.

seriously? You don't know the origin of 'tarsands'? Try... it was the initial industry used name/label... it only got changed (by industry) as a part of a marketing campaign. Apparently "tar" is not the image industry wanted projected and sought to change their own naming - go figure! You really didn't know this?

but hey, if you took the effort to respond on that... why are you continuing to ignore my repeated requests for you to step-up and substantiate your claims of "NOAA caught lying"? Is there a problem... for you?

SNC Lavalin knows that

They built the SaskPower carbon capture project.

Look!

Stacks.

No stacks.

Why did SK taxpayers blow $1B to catch CO2?
