What Horse sh-t! Why don't you tell us how many houses Doctor David Suzuki owns? How many should he own. Good grief, the guy is respected all over the wo\rld for his science, He's written several dozen books. He deserves at least your respect.

Davie isn't so welcome in some nation's these days... As for respected for 'science', he has demonstrated a select bias that has trampled any scientific credibility he may have had

lol

Then

It must be hard when your blind hatred of immigrants conflicts with your blind hatred of environmentalists. I'm glad you resolved it though.

Now

This is a year old, by the way. This is one of those existential moments. Do you hate everything David Suzuki says or do you hate immigrants? Can't do both.

At least I'm consistent.

Plus he is not a climatologist.

Then why not a trillion people?

How about a billion trillion?

Growth has been relatively consistent in the long view of human history.

The problem in the West now is not growth, but a fertility rate in most Western countries that have fallen below replacement levels. That is portent of catastrophic economic and social consequences as the population ages and is not replaced by vigorous young people.

There is really no choice, we have to grow.. or we will open ourselves to ruin.. and to invasion.. and collapse of our civization. If we fail to advance the human cause.. it will be done so by others.

You're imagining things again.

I don't think so, Sweetie. Perhaps you are a little too young to remember Clayoquot, Bella Coola, Meares Island, Lyall Island, the Walbran Valley, the Stein Valley, Squamish and others too numberous to mention. People were chaining themselves to logging equipment preventing workers from doing their job. Many of these people showed up day after day for months, so it's doubt if they had any meaningful employment! -:)

Respect has to be both deserved and earned. That lets suzuki out on both counts.

Eight people per square mile and a country the same size as the whole of Europe but with a population the same size as Uganda and you're full?

We like our privacy and having large yards.

^ Just a few mins walk from where I grew up

A country eight times less crowded than Northumberland, England's least crowded county?

Yup.... we're full, David said so.... scram!

If you want to see what crowded's really like you should come to Britain, especially England. Or go to India.

Monaco, the world's second-smallest country, is the most crowded country. It has 33,000 people but somehow manages to have almost 44,000 people per square mile.

No thanks... most Canadians are claustrophobic.

Sarah Palin has several books out there too.

"His" Science?

What science or breakthroughs has he made?

I think he made one breakthrough in his entire life:

He has perfected the technology.

There is no limit to the population density that can be accomplished if you want to stack them up in sky scrapers, but I think most Canadians would prefer not to! -:)

I guess that means the country is something less than a square mile.

Not quite- We do have 1.6093489 km. which is virtually the same thing! -:)

So what's the exchange rate between Canadian KM's and Australian KM's?

I've been here too long and forget.

Wait, I'll figure it out:

$1 CAD = $0.98 AUD

2.0202% difference

1.6093489 CAKM - 2.0202% = 1.5768368335222 AUKM

There, that makes sense now.

We do not have to grow at all.

If growth is so important why does China have a one child policy?

China is actually in full scale retreat from its one child policy.. and the effects of an aging population.. and a generation of coddled, spoiled emotionally stunted children come of age.

Move the Palestinians and Hamas to the 87% of uninhabitable area of Canada, you'll kill two birds with one stone, piss off Suzuki and solve the Middle East problem, you'll be heroes for all eternity.

We'll move them to the Southern USA instead.. that'll fulfill America's unconditional guarantees to the State of Israel.. and heck they'll hardly be noticed amongst the 12 million illegal aliens from Latin America that are already there... also a product of U.S. Foreign policy (that of Free Trade).

America created the situation in the Middle East.. let them solve it.
