On calm days all the greenies can just turn off their AC units. Should prove interesting inside their sealedconcrete towers. Stick with hydro.

I think they accumualte for a few years and then start to attenuate over time.

Methyl mercury is a big issue due to the breakdown of organic material flooded in the reservoir. At least for the latest big dam in BC (Site C) it was supposed to go up for about about 50 years and then start to receded back to background levels.

I'd say negative imapcts to fisheries are probably a more significant effect for dams.

It's really one of those things that you wouldn't think of to begin with... I would have thought that the contaminants (wrong word) would have impacted the silt and fines that settle on the reservoir floor and at the base of the damn.

Cape Wind

Mind you I am all for Cape Wind because the beautiful people and eco-nuts are reaping what they sowed. The beautiful people on Cape Cod want alternative energy but not in their back yard. The Kennedy's are long time advocates for solar and wind power, but when Cape Wind decided to put up an off shore wind farm off the Kennedy Compound and right in their yachting view they fought tooth and nail to stop it. Alas the Lion of the Senate is gone and the turbines will spin.

There was a link that showed all the higher costs that the people of the Cape will be paying but it was all messed so I deleted it.

Nothing like paying more for crap than quality. Wind power kills electronics and pretty much any electrical device that relies on a steady 60Hz

Especially when it is the beautiful people on the Cape paying for it! I bet they all thought they were going to stick these wind farms off New Bedford and Fall River or some other run down coastal community.

"Loveyyyyy... they're putting a wind farm off the coast of our summer home. My view will be spoiled!"
