Abortion is not doing a good enough job of population control. Over population is putting too much strain on the Biosphere. It ius time for a major cull of the human population, perhaps nuking all the major cities would be good start.

(inspired by Sleepy's comment above)

(I guess furnace season is drawing to a close and old Ger is just twiddling his thumbs and looking for issues) -:)

I'm sorry buddy, but just because something goes over your head doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.

Nothing you say make sense to anyone.

I'm sorry bud, but you have shown yourself to be a pretty terrible person to make that judgement.

If you want to keep posting about this topic, I will keep trying to explain it to you, but don't keep posting and then complain that I am responding to you too much.

Typical Con thinking in black and white.

The point is that they are so rare that it's not worth worrying about legislation. The second point is that as technology improves, there will be opportunities to ensure even late stage abortions do not cause pain to the fetus or physical harm to the mother.

Legislating at this point would contradict those efforts and could even begin a slippery slope for prolifers to demand further restrictive legislation.

You're kidding, right??

I'm the MODERATE in this discussion, as I propose a law restricting abortions after say 22 weeks..............the EXTREMIST position is the one that allows child murder up to the exit from the birth canal, and falsely claims that that is a "right" defined by the Supreme Court of Canada.. Now that is "black and white", not the moderate position.

One example:

"Abortion procedures in approved facilities shall be limited to gestational ages of not greater than twenty (20)weeks / 0 days."

http://www.cpsa.ab.ca/libraries/pro_qofc_non_hospital/NHSF_-_Termination_of_Pregnancy.pdf?sfvrsn=12

Why do you want the government to get involved in anything when there is no evidence that they need to?

I don't think involving lawyers and politicians in something that wasn't broken has ever made it better. Doctors already have to answer to their college about things like this. Adding the threat of lawyers coming at them when there is no evidence that it is necessary just makes these tough medical decisions even harder for no real benefit.

I also am cautious about proposals for new laws because advocates have shown time and time again that they want to bring up stuff like late term abortion or sex selection primarily as an excuse to fight for more general restrictions on abortion.

You're kidding, right??

You found a document from the most conservative province in Canada that outlines regulations for non-hospital surgical facilities ONLY, and you claim that is evidence late-term abortions are illegal across Canada??

I'd laugh in your face, were you here.......

Nobody claimed they were illegal. I said that medical standards didn't allow them after 24 weeks, and only in rare cases after 20 weeks.

That is one example of the standards in place.

Lol, everyone thinks they are the "moderate".

You are arguing against nobody, since nobody here is proposing any of the things you are arguing against.

It is good to see the Dr. Strangeloves argue so strongly for the right to life of the unborn. Now, if they only thought about the born...

Obviously that is not their problem.

At some point, the babies have to take some personal responsibility.

**** the standards.....the simple fact is any doctor in Canada can do a partial birth abortion without legal retribution. THAT is the point, and your galloping off down side roads claiming "Oh My! It never happens" is BS.

Perhaps you need a lesson in English language comprehension.

There is a spectrum of opinion here.....the extremist position on one end of the spectrum (known as "extremist because it is at the extreme end of that spectrum) is no abortion whatsoever, no matter what stage, nor what given reason. The extremist position on the other end of the spectrum is no legal control, abortion quite legal at any time prior to the natural emergence of the child.(known as "extremist because it is at the extreme end of that spectrum)

The position in the middle of the spectrum is some rational legal control over abortion, as done in 98% of the world..........in this case my position is open abortion until 22 weeks, and very restricted access thereafter.

By definition, that is the MODERATE position, as it lands on the spectrum exactly between the two EXTREMIST positions.

You're welcome. Any other time I can help you understand the language, just ask.

Going back to the porch to watch the squirrels there.
