Focusing on The Star is Ford's classic deflection. Regardless of the fact that reporters from almost every news organization in Canada, and many international ones, are camping outside his office and his house, somehow that is all The Star's fault.

The guy brings this on himself because he refuses to answer questions from the media in the proper context. The media don't need to camp out anywhere to ask Stephen Harper or Kathleen Wynn a question. They have regular media availability. Ford has literally gone weeks without providing the media with any such opportunity. So they do what they have to do.

Even the freaking police had to follow this guy around since he wouldn't cooperate and answer any questions from them either. That is just how this guy operates.

I'm inclined to take a slightly more lenient view than you, Grumpy, mainly because I haven't "been there". But knowing some who have, I think he may be beyond any rationale thought and is just floundering trying to stay afloat. While I'm really beginning to think he's beyond being successful political material, I would much rather see him succeed as a person. There is not much sadder than to see a person who has reached such a level of success in life, just to piss it all away through stupidity or any other reason. I'm betting he's very unhappy with the level he's reached.

All the forced rehab in the world will not cure an adict. That is why so may of the rich and famous are repeats. To quit the person actually has to want to quit. Ford has astrong personality so he has a good shot at being clean and sober if he really wants to.

Rehab at this early stage is such he is immobilized.

You are quoting lines directly from his playbook.

"stalking methods in which the Star went above and beyond to get that information. And they are not alone in this. Following people to holiday destinations, peeking over fences and ambushing people at their homes is something you expect from The Inquirer, not a newspaper that touts itself as legit."

These are all direct quotes from Rob and Doug, and things that are not substantiated by anyone but them and their supporters' echo chamber.

Daniel Dale never peaked over his fence. The Star hasn't done anything that every other paper has not done. Disparaging The Star and comparing them to the Inquirer is just a standard deflection that the Ford's use for everything.
