Libs don't have the same predatory patience as Cons - who ruled from 1943 to 1985 then waited for Harris (1995 to 2002 then left Eves holding the bag) to plunder the pot - while the really stupid cheered him.

Time for a change....

TORONTO -- I have two little words for Premier Kathleen Wynne: Just go.

She can argue the disgraceful way hard drives were allegedly wiped in the premier's office during the hand-over period when Dalton McGuinty left and she arrived didn't happen on her watch.

The fact is, she was an intrinsic part of McGuinty's government.

She co-chaired the election campaign. Her signature is on the document that ordered the scrapping of the Oakville plant.

She was in his cabinet.

Politicians are pretty much all tarred with the same brush. Don't get complacent with ANY of them!

And change to what might I ask?

Another round of the stupid New Dem's with the likes of a Bobby Rae scholarly type who gave avery dime he could find to Buddies in Bad Times theater and ignored his labour support base? Conservatives in the form of the Common Sense Revolution Mike Harris who turned that election slogan into the very epitomy of an Oxymoron with his Walkerton water debacle and ordering the Opp to shoot an unarmed native. That man did more to screw up Ontario in one term than all the rest combined.

Who now would you replace this idiot savant with?

C'mon, gimme a reason to hope.............anything out there other than a Mike Harris accolyte or a community organizer (that's been demonstrated to have worked so well for our neighbours to the south , eh?) who has ridden on the taxpayer's dime for her entire working life other than that short stint as a waitress while schooling herself in the Political Sciences. Horvath has consistantly made a pact with the devil while knowing the full and comprehensive manner in which the Liberals have screwed us over from the get-go. Knowing what I'm sure she has known all along and still siding with them to achieve nothing but keeping another party from power speaks volumes about her ethics! :smack:

No hope... .is there?

We in Ontario are doomed to keep picking between the the sludge at the bottom and the scum floating on the top of the barrel's contents of discarded old restaurant fry grease.

Did you read a party named in CHANGE?

It's time to co-operate. Opposition for the sake of opposition isn't working. Catering to business interests at the expense of people isn't working. Catering to Unions at the expense of people isn't working. Rhetoric and bully tactics aren't working. It's time for government to be taken from the hands of CEOs and given back to the people they are supposed to represent.

Lol, do you think that is a liberal thing or just a supporter of any particular party?

How many Cons have been strong apologists for Harper?

Really dumb, you keep voting for them and they keep raising your taxes.

I never voted for them, and I would rather vote for a stuffed raccoon than the Liberals right now. Out of all the Parties, even though none of them come across as particularly great right now, the Liberals are the ones that have the greatest stench about them.

I'm getting so fed up with politics in general. Is there ANY hope for us out there?

Our society has become so selfish and mean, that there doesn't seem to be anyone out there that has any desire to run who has an ethical bone in their body. (Mind you, even if there was, who can blame them for not wanting to run?) Its a mean sport. And it seems everyone is in it for themselves. Or is it that they run with good intentions and then something happens to them? Seems that way. Obviously, the meanness needs to change as well. It will take someone with a strong sense of who they are, a willingness to compromise and demand the best in others and tolerate no BS.

Political correctness has also ruined discourse because, god forbid, you might say the wrong thing and "offend" someone. No one can say ANYTHING any more without total honesty. How sad is that?

Who will have the intestinal fortitude to tell people - look - pull up your boot straps and get to work - we'll help you if you help yourself but that's it.

We need someone who will stand up to the eco-extremists - (the David Suzuki's et al) who themselves leave large carbon foot prints on the planet but demand the rest of us to leave less; someone who will challenge (and charge big time) companies who damage and/or destroy the environment but also work WITH companies as is being done now by utilizing new technologies that help mitigate environmental damage.

Universities (and I know the U of A in particular) are working with industry, always looking at ways to make our energy development more sustainable. The Oil Sands aren't mining and processing the stuff the way they did 10 or even 5 years ago. They're much more efficient and environmentally friendly but you'd never know that by listening to the news.

I'm frustrated that our children aren't learning the 3 R's in school anymore; they're classroom experiments for various politically correct "theories" - learning practical stuff? No way - that's so "old school".

Is there ANYONE out there that can gain the trust of the population anymore? I don't see anyone right now and that's the scary part. What of our future and the future of our kids?

Ah, just one of those "ranting" mornings. Gotta go - but thanks for letting me get it out of my system!!

after what we've had to endure, it was rather cruel of you to use that word at the beginning of the thread title. :( ;)

Yeah well, sometimes in this joint if you lead with words that might be mistaken as your own ya could be labelled a troll or hatemonger.

People can be so touchy.

Maybe it's been the long winter as you say. Bring on spring.

Cheer up Dixie, you've recognized the fact that ain't likely to change, the only thing we can change is ourselves, no use beating your head against the wall over others' short comings- you'll just end up with a sore head. -:)
