Do Canuck fans not understand that Lu is not part of the teams plans? They don't care if they upset him.

I believe there is $64 million that says otherwise. If that is indeed the team's attitude, a refresher course in how to get the most out of yur men might be indicated. I don't think a goalie as good as Lu is going to be easy to come by, unless they want to blow another $64 million.

You must be getting tired of always arguing with me only to be proven wrong time and time again.

apparantly not, although the trade discussion for lou has always been an open discussion, but lou's
Agent called gillis the next day, there was discussion, so i think whatever was on the backburner
for sometime was suddently escalated.
if lou had been sat because of a possible trade, he would know that, and he didn't.
they would at least have given him a 'hint', they didn't, he was ready to play today,
said early in the day he was ready to go, didn't have a clue.

gillis has great respect for luongo, especially when they hAd to go to florida and tell him they had
changed their minds about the trade, and schneider was traded.

they respect how well he handled that situation.

and each and every time gillis discusses luongo, he is very respectful and complimentary.

we are all thankful and grateful to have had luongo on this team, too bad he had problems in the
playoffs, or they would have had that elusive cup by now.

he was the best goalie canucks ever had, will leave vancouver with the best stats ever on the team and will return
to florida holding the best stats for that team as well, so he can pick up and move forward knowing that.

we understand our own team, our own players, our own goalies, we don't need outsiders trying to explain
things to us about our goalie that they really don't know, but we do, so we can feel good for lou, as
he makes his way home to florida, where the family is, and where he can probably finish his career, but
one never knows in hockey, he could move again.

i wish the best for lack going forward, he is our guy now, along with markstrom, 6'6", a young fellow who
had a rocky start in florida only two years ago, was sent to minors, now he can have a chance for a new
start, under rolli melannson as his goalie coach, couldn't learn from better, so the promise he had when
he was drafted hopefully will return and we will again have two very good goalies.

now we can wait and see what, if anything happens with kesler tomorrow, but this trade might wait till summer,
but i know there is bidding war going for him, so one of those g ms probably will give too much, and will be
nice to be on the receiving end of that for a change, if it happens.
it would be smart for a g m to grab him up tomorrow, then, with 2 years left on his contract, they will have
him for 3 playoff runs, and not just 2, if it waits till summer.

Another little fact people should keep in mind.............chances of winning the Stanley Cup is a little better than 3%. -:)
lol, I hope you aren't a gambler.

Rebuilding time. Put everything up on the blocks I say. Good value in Kesler.

I'm sure he had no clue and if it fell through he would play. It's not like the idea of going to Florida just came up.

Now Lui gets to share the net with his good buddy Tim Thomas.

I'm not sure that you've proven me wrong even once so far! However maybe being "wrong" is better than being a loser. I will consider myself to be wrong if after one year the Canucks fortunes have improved by getting rid of Lu. In the meantime don't hold your breath. -:) I love it when I see people with BOTH feet in their mouth. -:)

I am hoping that the Penguins grab him, talloola..........always have liked Ryan.

If it fell through he plays. If not it doesn't matter whether they tell him he's scheduled or not.

It's not like his agent now demanded a trade and they just snapped their fingers to make one. They've trying to trade him for over a year.

If everything is equal but it's not. Chicago's chances of winning a cup next year is considerably better than Calgary's

they have definitely been talked about as one of the suiters, but who knows, between philly and
pittsburg, they are two teams who will not want 'each other' to get kesler, as it hurts the
other one, so having them haggle over him is good for canucks, but i would not be surprised
if he goes to either detroit or chicago, we'll see tomorrow, maybe no where till the summer.

Well, there's one game where I can't see how Lu's absence helped them much! -:)

jlm, lu leaving won't either help or hurt the team, their problems have nothing to do with goalkeeping,
and lack played great tonight, and if he has to keep playing that would be just fine.
it is the rest of the team, as they can't score, so a goalie can't help them with that part of the game.

it is good that lui is gone now, the team has to transition into a fairly new look team over the next
couple of years, and having lack as the number one helps that process, he is part of it, along with
his backup.

when kesler is gone, that is also the beginning of another area of change, and they cAn retool their
offense, with new players coming in, and continue moving forward.
hopefully the team won't sink much lower than they are right now, and as they transition thru the change,
they can gradually get stronger again.
the sedins will have to become the second line somewhere along the way, as soon as they can develope a
new first line, maybe in a year or so, they will be just fine as second liners, that is what they were
originally.

it is all good, it is a positive thing, all teams must retool, some must rebuild, as players get older,
and the teams begin to 'slide' a bit.

they aren't going to suffer without luongo, they have to gather around lack, support him, and persevere,
and keep competetive and be a good team, they cAn do that.

Obviously some people in the organization are getting a little "trigger happy", twelve games or so back they were in the midst of an 8 game winning streak and then Hank got hurt along with a couple of others and now they want to dismantle the team. They're nuts!

Torts is an idiot, and Roberto was not the goaltender people thought he was.
When the pressure came Roberto couldn't to the job. Back up goaltenders
were better than he was.
Of course being a Habs fan I delighted in their dysfunction. Years ago I was a
member of the CCF Counter Canuck Fans. You brought you snacks and booze
and cheered for anyone except the Canucks..

According to the commentary during the game tonight, Lu had the best stats of any Canuck goalie ever, with the exception of McLean actually playing more games.

Was it Lu that couldn't do the job when the pressure was on? Sometimes, but many times it was the defenseman laying down on the job and sometimes it was the offense's inability to score. Teams don't win the Presidents Trophy for not being up to the job.
