well there you go torterella, made a stupid decision to play lack today, he played ok, but became human,
as we knew he would eventually, only makes sense. you totally pissed off your number one goalie.
lack wasn't the 'hot' goalie, he was the goalie who was being plAyed irrespective of anything else.
luongo wasn't given a chance to be hot for quite a while, and he didn't do anything to deserve being
stuck on the bench.
lack had to listen to stupid fans boo him, loo him, not his fault, torterella is the twit.

he could have played lui in the last period, but if i were lui and he gave me the nod, i would have
told him f. off, just kidding lui would never do that, but i bet he thought it.

If Lui had played the score would've been 5-2, because he would have, of course, let one in from the corner (or maybe Hamhuis score on him).

His job is to win games. Loyalty has nothing to do with anything other than maybe being an excuse to make a bad decision

J.T. has to start looking at the big picture. Lu has served the Canucks well for the past 9 or 10 years. Eddie Lack is an excellent goalie and is able to win some key games as he's proved and there is not a hell of a lot wrong with Eddie, given time he'll possibly be as good as Lu, but he has to continue in his role and that is back up goalie. Like all goalies Lu will pull off some stinkers but that's the name of the game. It has to be remembered that the man is always bigger than the game, they lost a game today which in the big scheme doesn't mean a great deal, but he undoubtedly has hurt Lu.

Things in the dressing room are not going to improve after this last loss, talloola. Only watched the first period as the Brier is also on this weekend. Would have been nice to see the Canucks pull it off in the Classic.

My guys fell flat on their faces in their Classic game against the Blackhawks who ruled. Jonathan Toews rocked the ice. The Penguins looked as if they just finished their kilometers long march to the sea. Two in a row they have lost now. 8O

Lots of rumours about possible big Canucks trade(s). Kesler to Penguins in a huge deal.

Yes, you made it clear in the Olympic thread that you value history.

Do Canuck fans not understand that Lu is not part of the teams plans? They don't care if they upset him.

I believe there is $64 million that says otherwise. If that is indeed the team's attitude, a refresher course in how to get the most out of yur men might be indicated. I don't think a goalie as good as Lu is going to be easy to come by, unless they want to blow another $64 million.

Talloola - a little off subject but I've been racking my brain today trying to remember who the goalie was before Lu and after Kirk McLean

I guess Alzheimers is taking hold. -:)

Yes, the Canucks could use some lessons. As for the ease of finding a replacement, goaltenders that choke at crunch time aren't all that rare

dan cloutier was there a while back.

torterella's loyalty and energy is to the 'team', but he isn't doing that, isn't winning with lack
even though he has played excellent, he had no reason to start lack today, he has hurt 'the team',
now he has to get back to being an intelligent coach, not a fearfull one.

he tried to protect the terrible play of the team by depending on one rookie goalie to fix everything,
that won't work, lack and luongo are assets, both have played well, both deserve to play, but luongo
now might be totally pissed, he has been thru this before, which was his own doing, this time it isn't.
enough is enough, so of course he will play luongo in phoenix on tuesday, and they could lose that one
too, that would just continue along the same road they have travelled for a while now, so forget the
goalies torterella and put your energy into where the real problems lie.

pittsburg again shows the weakness of their defense, don't know why they haven't concentrated on
that part of their team for some time. seems they want their top end offensive players to do
the job, but that just doesn't balance the team. malkin dissapears in a game where the opposition
is checking him well, and he can't do what he wants, he isn't very good defensively at all.

chicago wAs all over them, as they have a very well balanced team. not that they can't be beat,
any team can be beaten, if they don't bring their A game., but pittsburg doesn't have an A defense.
when crosby has to concentrate too much of defending, his scoring will suffer. it is a team effort
to defend, including the goalie, and he played very well last night, score could have been much worse.

The Canucks have so many problems it's hard to know where to start. First, I don't think Torts is the right guy for this team. His system doesn't work with this group. Plus, the west coast is tough enough travel-wise. His system is burning out players. You know something is wrong when Burrows has zero goals on the season. Which brings us to problem #2. Torts has a five year contract and everyone else have no-trade clauses (or ridiculous contracts). Problem #3 - the Sedins. Problem #4. Lack of depth and future prospects.

What do these problems have in common? Mike Gillis.

At the ten minute mark of the first period today, I said to myself, "finally". I think I jinxed them! -:)

BINGO, totally agree, i was 100% behind torterella to start, wanted to be open minded and fair, but
as time goes by there is problems, i see a disconnect, just as you do, he is stubborn about playing
four lines, most of the time, hence burning out the other three. his antics also bothered me.
yes, gillis has dug himself another hole, to join the others he has dug over time.
i now see a lot of good in vineault, he just ran out of time.

ROBERTA LUONGO is now a florida panther, he was traded a little while ago, markstrom, mathias both
coming this way.

there you go torterella, as i'm sure this was escalated by the dumb move you made in last game. luongo
said it was the most dissapointing day of his career.

hope lack can get back to his stellar play, as his last game, he was a bundle of nerves, and didn't play
his best, and he wasn't expecting to play tonight, as luongo was scheduled to play in phoenix.

i will miss lou, he was a great guy, went thru all of this circus like a true professional, has a great
personality.
he was the best goalie canucks ever had, but his downfall was 'not' getting it done in playoffs, so
he will be remembered for that by many.

markstrom is a young goalie, was playing in the minors, so he will (i imagine) come here to be lack's
backup.

mathias is a big center, not a superstar by any means, but it will be interesting to see how he does
on the canucks team.

don't think this trade will have any affect on what will happen with 'kesler' being traded or not.
if the right trade shows up for gillis tomorrow, he better do it, as kesler's value has never been
higher.

Yeah, I guess J.T. has lost sight of the fact that the man is more important than the game. Lack still has a lot to prove.

Another little fact people should keep in mind.............chances of winning the Stanley Cup is a little better than 3%. -:)

I've been wondering if Blysma has his mind on the game at hand or if he is still smarting from the loss in Sochi. Had to be a tough shot to take after the US had done so well during the prelims.
