I don't know--is there? Is that an epistemological question. I haven't seen a ship trapped in ice trapped in Antarctica myself. The only reason that I have any knowledge of any such alleged incident is media reports. But, according to you, I shouldn't believe the media right?
There is no mainstream media, ok? FOX news--the supposed "alternate" cable news actually has the highest ratings. Most of the top ten radio shows in the US are right-wing talk shows. In the last election in Canada, all four daily papers available in my city endorsed Harper.
I realize that this is evidence, and that idealogues don't react wqell to evidence that does not support their narrative, but I'll throw that out just the same.
In fact, most major media are reporting this. They just aren't putting the spin that you want on it.

That IS the spin... not that Chris Turney, a world renown Climate Scientist has been trapped on the ice and most likely will need to be evacuated by a Chinese Helicopter. Why? I have no problem with the media the way that they are. They are highly competitive corporations looking to maximize profits. "News" is just the conveyance they use to sell advertising. The idea of a "liberal MSM" is, in my opinion, an easily dismissed a consiracy theory.
So, what's your beef then? You started off complaining that the MSM were ignoring the story.

Tell them that because the science is settled and we understand global warming so well, that when the AGW gets sooo intense, it actually goes full circle and the extreme heat actually creates record levels of sea ice that traps only AGW science boats
