snow is gone. Days are getting longer Neither wife or girlfriend are pregnant. How much good news do you want in one day?

Here in balmy Regina it was -47c with the wind, and the monkeys where
swinging from the palm trees (in my mind)...with a gentle breeze coming
across the ocean bringing the scent of the ocean....and a cold drink in my
hand as I'm enjoying the view...

Update: Thanks to generous supporters, Cecil Williams will keep his heroic dog

Yesterday, we shared the story of Cecil Williams, a blind man whose guide dog, Orlando, saved his life after he fell onto New York City subway tracks.
Williams told the Associated Press that Orlando would soon be retiring — and that his insurance wouldn't cover the costs of caring for a retired dog. He'd have to find his dog a loving home.
Compassionate readers rallied together to make sure that Williams and Orlando don't have to be separated.
Guiding Eyes for the Blind, the organization that trained Orlando, set up a fund to help Williams keep his dog. Enough donations poured in to ensure Williams could keep his "best buddy."

According to the Village Voice, "At a press conference yesterday, Williams announced a Guiding Eyes donor had pledged enough money through to cover Orlando's expenses for the rest of his life."
"As of right now," Williams is planning to keep Orlando, said Michelle Brier, spokeswoman for Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
Additionally, a good Samaritan set up an Indiegogo page for the lucky duo. So far, more than $67,000 has been raised. On GoFundMe, another $39,000 has been pledged.
Williams called the outpouring of support a "miracle."
"The spirit of giving, Christmas…exists in New York," a tearful Williams told the Associated Press from his hospital room.

"I'm not a crybaby or nothing. But my eyes are misty and I'm tearing right now because things like this here don't happen for everybody," Williams said. "They should happen. We should care about one another. We should do for one another. But it's not always that way."
Williams hopes the public will also support other disabled individuals in need of guide dogs. Guiding Eyes for the Blind will forward any leftover donations to do just that, as will the GoFundMe campaign.
If Williams finds himself unable to care for both his retired dog and a new guide dog, the family that raised Orlando is willing to welcome the dog back into their home.

Pretty good news I'd say.:D
*sniff* people who don't love pets don't get they are family...there is a special bonding so so so happy for both of them. It is good news.

My good news... I am now off for nine days running, and the other piece is, a 15 week contract has lasted half a year and will extend itself until the end of January. Life is good.

that made me laugh out loud...I am becoming more germaphobic by the day...there were cookies nicely laid out on the filing cabinet the other day...people were leaning over them and yapping spraying all of their "talk saliva" all over them, shooting nose breath on them, and fingering them... cretins.

Tonight after all that shopping I sat down to read the local paper
there was a section of favouite photes from the Papers photographer's
photo collection. One of his real favouites was a pine tree candling in
my back yard during the forest and brish fire that went through part of
the yard this summer. We had a close call but it all turned out alright
in the end.

Police save Christmas after thieves steal all of Regina family's presents

By The Canadian Press | The Canadian Press – 17 hours ago

REGINA - Police in Regina saved the day for a family whose presents were stolen in a break-in.
Thieves broke into the home of a family with three children last week, taking all the family's Christmas presents and a little girl's piggy bank to boot.
Police were called and one of the men in blue, Const. Brandon Boon, saw what happened and decided to do something.
So he passed the hat among his colleagues, and pulled together $415 in cash, a snow globe, and more than eight kilograms of chocolate.
The Regina Police Association, the officers' union, donated some children's toys as well.
On Saturday, the officers presented the gifts to the family.
Police spokesman Les Parker says it's just one of many good deeds officers have done over the year.
"I spoke to just two of our members and they gave me a huge list of anecdotes of the type of stuff that happens at Christmas, and year 'round," he said.
Parker listed off just a few including giving gift baskets to senior citizens, adopting families locally and internationally and manning the Salvation Army's kettles. He said sometimes officers will buy a pair of shoes for someone they see who doesn't have any, or a coffee card for someone in need.
"They do see a lot of rough things, especially at the colder times. It helps make them feel better to do a little good."
