Seems the numbers are fairly consistent and he would win reelection as mayor.

Now, now, don't you go discouraging all the Ford haters, their obsession might lead them to self destruct....
Have any of you guys seen any polls done by anyone other than Forum Research? With the national polls, you can see some pretty dramatic variations in results just from the different methodology that each firm uses, so it would be interesting to see how different firms stack up.
If 33% is the accurate portion of people who would vote for him, it still leaves him with a decent amount of ground to make up. They are saying that he would need 43% support, and that extra 10% could be a real challenge for him. Unlike other candidates, it isn't like the people who don't support him simply prefer someone else. 60% of voters apparently want him to resign, so I think that would be a very tough sell. That leaves him a very narrow slice of voters that he can draw those extra votes from.
If you have watched him recently, his main tactic now seem to be to challenge everyone under the sun to run against him to hopefully split the vote enough to allow him to win without gaining any more support. I think that if another credible fiscal conservative enters the race though, he is toast.

I was really hoping that you could shed some light on why people like you and Ford hate homosexuals.

That's comparing mayoral candidates and no one really knows the others' platforms yet.
That particular number isn't all that surprising. In their most recent polls, 33% of people said they would vote for Ford again, and 34% said that they think he is the best to handle the budget. Given the margin of error, there is no statistical difference between those two results.
It makes sense that the same people who said they would vote for Ford again would also say that they thought he was the best to handle the budget. Ford has little else to his brand at this point.
If Ford resigned there would be no more lovely threads like this one..

Normally I would say "No", but from a commentary I heard on C.B.C. radio last night, Ford is "done", "hors d' combat", "persona non grata", "kaput". I suppose he may as well stretch out his salary as long as he can plus the multitude of perks, but I would say his "fifteen minutes in the sun" are over. Mind you commentators have been wrong before.
Well, the fact that we are almost certainly going to have a higher tax increase than Ford promised is definitely going to play right into his hand.
It doesn't matter that it is almost certain that Ford could not have pulled it off either way(the subway, the cut in the LTT, and keeping the increase at 1.75%). Now Ford gets to sit back and say "I was going to keep your taxes lower but they wouldn't let me!".
Funny thing about his supporters is that even if Ford was still running the ship and he went over the 1.75% tax increase they wouldn't even bat and eye.

True if he went over the 1.75 - and why would they be OK with that. Very important question that goes to how the Voter looks at council.
