If he sought any help at a facility the Press would be at the door like wolves.

I don't think so. I think at that point they would back off or face a public backlash. The Toronto Star took a lot of heat for that video they paid 5 G's for and from folks who aren't Ford friendly. I think if he said, "It's time to get some help." They'd back off.

All things being equal I would take Ford the buffoon - who has kept a number of his promises- over John Tory a Party hack.

But I find all these police resources were to get Ford with something. No arrests and they had probable cause up the hoop.
Look at the resources assigned to this.

Makes a man wonder it do, yes it do.

I disagree, I think that TO blew it when they didn't elect John Tory and I think Ontario blew it when they got wrapped up in that religious school thing. Tory is a centrist and a smart guy and very respected.

The purpose of their investigation isn't to fire Ford.
I actually agree. It looks alot like a smear campaign to give Tory a chance, lol.

No worries.

It was the latest thing going around Facebook last month. A lot of the hipsters (the real ones for Bear's info) love this guy because he's preaching about not voting as a way to reform politics - which would be like asking Colpy to describe what he was like just after university.
You mean you fake being a hipster, like you fake being objective?

tsk tsk.

I'm not an expert on police investigations, but I'm sure all of this could be settled by Blair giving a practical explanation.
Because his explanation should hold water?

It could be that Blair ordered surveillance on Ford for a period of time and they monitored everything he did. I'm sure that accounts for some of the reason why Ford and Lisi made some dodgy calls to eachother from remote locations.
He come the Blair apologists, lolz.

This has got to get some more media attention soon.
Doubt it will. At the very least, nothing even approaching the level that Ford has.

Just they way you want it, lolz. Ford out, by any means.

Nope.

He should leave all talk on a high note now, leave them wanting more a la Costanza...you cannot possibly beat the

"...p u s s y ...I have enough to eat at home"

campaign slogan.

The Ford is strong with this One.
That was the line that left me laughing so hard I almost couldn't get my breath!
Later I saw his wife standing there beside him looking so miserable, why the hell do disgraced politicians think having a wounded wife standing next to them will make it all better?

I'm so over this... if the media would stop covering this crap, maybe it'd have been over already. He's a fool and I don't see how this rates as news after so long! A fool is a fool, is a fool.

I'll give him that. A lot of people just dont like the promises he made or the priorities he set. Sticking to them is probably the main reason his supporters are still backing him. Between a polite politician who breaks their promises and a seemingly crazy one who keeps their promises Id take the latter as well.

This gentleman's problem does not lie in addiction itself. The addictions are just a symptom.
He was raised as an entitled rich boy baby. His Mommy still calls him 'Robby' publicly.
Most people would find that demeaning or degrading to have their mother treat them like a child 'publicly'.
This brain deader doesn't even get it. He is still a little boy and thinks 'I'm sorry' works for everything.
Well in the 'big boy' universe I live in sorry doesn't buy you much. You can apologize to someone and if you really mean it and change your subsequent behavior then the person may well forgive you and have confidence in you again.
Mayor Rob Ford is doing non of this.
He started as a buffoon and ending as a total moron.
Too bad really, he could have done something. He has done nothing.
He changed some taxes but did he actually reduce the operating budget of Toronto?
I kind of doubt that and if the operating budget is not reduced then the load on tax payers is not reduced so ergo Ford did not lower taxes for Torontonians.
Maybe we could get some actual facts from the budget of Toronto? No, I thought not. Whoo Hoo Ford nation.

OK, why the hell not? LOL.

Now as is normal they go after the persons spouse.
The write about claims, full of innuendo, hearsay as the statement have not met the test of court, slide in the "occasional" not proven in court- and think they are evenhanded.

Renata Ford: How the public sees the latest political wife caught up in her husband Rob Ford’s crisis - The Globe and Mail

With his wife standing several feet away, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford apologized for acting on “impulse,” but denied new allegations released in police interviews. The 474-page affidavit outlines former staff members’ and a waiter’s claims – unproven in court – that on St. Patrick’s Day in 2012, the mayor consorted with an escort and snorted cocaine at a pub, accusations Ford denies. The string of new allegations about “cocaine, escorts, prostitution has pushed me over the line, and I used unforgivable language,” Ford said as his wife struggled for a place to cast her eyes, with photographers snapping away. “These allegations are 100-per-cent lies. When you attack my integrity as a father and as a husband, I see red,” the mayor continued.

Following the brief press conference, reporters and photographers caught up with Ford’s wife and her handlers in a parking garage: “I think my husband said already enough,” she told them before denying that he should resign.

Funny everyone was asking for him to say sorry . Now he does , and likewise people say he doesn't mean it.
Meanwhile president Obama fumbles the ball and nobody notices . LOL

.

She put herself out there.

I was listening to one of the 2 , well there's only 2 Toronto Talk Radio stations and they are both right wing but on CFRB the commenters weren't even sure who she was when she appeared with him for that press conference and eventually figured out that she was in wife.

If she doesn't want to be scrutinized, she should stay away from the hornets nest.

Should Ford Resign?
We know he purchased and used illegal drugs- OK- Needs help - I can live with that if he seeks help.
Family or professional- but help. Studies show that both have about the same results- Positive family and friends can have the same/similar results as a professional in addressing the issue.

If he provided assistance to Gang members, criminals that are illegal- then he should resign. Not referring to drugs.

If he cheated on his wife- Well he deals with that with his wife- No need to resign.

Should he take some time to address the addiction(s) - Yes- The stress must be horrendous- dealing with that, the press, family. Think of the stress levels.

But so far I do not see why he should resign.

I heard that Ford challenged all Councillors to provide hair sample for drug tests- Hair is a better indicator of past drug use. I would love to see them all provide hair samples- result to be made public- but not identify any person providing their hair sample.

Does this set a bar higher than should be expected of elected officials- possibly- But as it is anonymous I am fine with the test.

Nope............for all his faults there's nothing worse than a quitter!

The Rob Ford business should play itself out. Let it serve as a moral allegory for Canadians.

This whole charade is actually media driven. (Which is another drain on the public and private purse) Use them for what you can get out of them but don't react to them. They are bottom feeders.

The media are just doing what the people want. If people werent interested in reading about or watching stuff about this they wouldnt be covering it. Its all entertainment and is better than anything else on tv at the moment.
