It's only a matter of time until the US dollar loses its reserve currency status. Then living standards in the US will sharply decline, and Americans will be at each other's throats struggling over a shrinking economic pie.
They already are.
Hey. We the people reopened Rushmore this week. We aim on opening our other national parks too. Alas! The people awaken and realize we don't need no stinkin government.
"We the People"? What a monstrous falsehood. Every other western nation at the very least has arranged health care for the people. "Youz the People" haven't managed that yet, and no matter what you say your masters are determined that you not get any.
Without good government there is no personal freedom. Look for the power bases in society. They are governments and corporations. Good government can be controlled by the people, good corporations cannot. No real power over a company can be exercised by anybody but the board of directors. The only person a member of a board of directors is interested in advancing is #1, himself, and whatever cronies he must support to maintain himself. A good government, OTOH, is responsive to the needs of the people. No one person can usually effect much, but people together with others can effect more of government than they can of the economy. Any economic control exercised against a company would usually be through legal means, which is to say the courts, which is government.
That is how things were done in the old days. Want a park? volunteer. Today people expect some rich government employee to do every last thing for them.
"Rich government employee?" My, we are feeling hard done by. It sounds like someone tried to get into government but failed.
While the US senate is voting on the funding proposal it has to then be voted on by the House of Representatives, who have a Republican majority
Hmmmm. The head r/w'er was quoted on tv last night as saying it's all the tea party's fault and the rest of the party wasn't involved. Time to fish or cut bait.
