You have the patience of Job, Cliffy...
Is that a better path than being a child of the Beloved Disciple?
2Jo:1:1:
The elder unto the elect lady and her children,
whom I love in the truth;
and not I only,
but also all they that have known the truth;
Jesus would have headed for Rome, the nation referenced in these verses.
Da:8:9:
And out of one of them came forth a little horn,
which waxed exceeding great, toward the south,
and toward the east,
and toward the pleasant land.
Da:8:10:
And it waxed great,
even to the host of heaven;
and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground,
and stamped upon them.
Da:8:11:
Yea,
he magnified himself even to the prince of the host,
and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away,
and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Da:8:12:
And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression,
and it cast down the truth to the ground;
and it practised,
and prospered.
Jerusalem didn't change from when Stephen was killed until the Apostles left Jerusalem, as directed. With Jesus being the 'prince' in the verse below Rome would seem to be the first (and last) destination in that Rome lasted until about 400AD.
Ac:8:1:
And Saul was consenting unto his death.
And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem;
and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria,
except the apostles.
Lu:21:21:
Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains;
and let them which are in the midst of it depart out;
and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
Lu:21:24:
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword,
and shall be led away captive into all nations:
and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles,
until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Da:9:26:
And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off,
but not for himself:
and
the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary;
and the end thereof shall be with a flood,
and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
If the beloved disciple is the writer of Revelation, which she is, then that would have been in her oldest years. She and Jesus met when they were both 30 and Jesus's mom was related to Elizabeth so she should have been 30 when Jesus was born, even older is possible. 60 at the cross and passed away shortly after. The BD could have lived to be 120, just like Moses, so she died 90 years after the cross at the latest.
Add it altogether you end up with the biblical version being the better of two tales, in just this little but but overall also.
You have the patience of Job, Cliffy...
How do you know Job didn't ask Satan to kill him, ... more than once??
Job:2:5:
But put forth thine hand now,
and touch his bone and his flesh,
and he will curse thee to thy face.
Job:2:6:
And the LORD said unto Satan,
Behold,
he is in thine hand;
but save his life.
Re:9:5:
And to them it was given that they should not kill them,
but that they should be tormented five months:
and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion,
when he striketh a man.
Re:9:6:
And in those days shall men seek death,
and shall not find it;
and shall desire to die,
and death shall flee from them.
