The reality is that they don't care one bit about torture in the ME or anywhere for that matter. It only becomes an issue if the Yanks are doing it.
Take Syria for example... it only came into the news when the US was going to attack. The war has been raging there for 3+ years without a care. And since Putin "pantsed" Obama... the concern for Syrians has completely died off. Torture and killings are rampant. There is not going to be much of a prisoner exchange when that war is over. One need only look at Youtube to see that.
God help those Syrians if there are any terrorists active there that go by the name Omar... The usual suspects will have their panties all in a twist for some time to come
