Re: "The U.S. Should Act"

Yep, it would be lovely if we could just wipe out the bastards who are perpetuating this sh*t, I guess the 2nd best solution would be to wipe out their infrastructure. A few railway trestles should do the trick.
that will never happen... nothing changes, nothing, we just leave more dead behind and eventually pull out...see ya, have fun burying your dead...we need a new approach that doesn't involve guns

Re: Kerry Says Chemical Arms Attack in Syria Is ‘Undeniable’

Do go on. Your nationalism amuses me.

You notice that whenever Americans refer to the allegiance of citizens to other countries it is always referred to as Nationalism.. like a malignant, irrational ideology worthy of stamping out with Imperial indignation as an impediment to Free Commerce and Trade and proper respect for the privilege of the world's only Superpower (increasingly in decline).

When applied to Americans it is always referred to as Patriotism.. and woe be to any who question the conventions of the executive branch who determine the substance that make up Patriotic thought... as all dissenters are then, by definition, Traitors.

Re: "The U.S. Should Act"

Oh my Obama - What did you know and when did you know it.

As to the right wing is against this- Depends upon who is in the WH.
When we do it, then it is justified, trust us. Those other guys will lie like hell.

U.S. Had Intel on Chemical Strike Before It Was Launched | The Cable
American intelligence agencies had indications three days beforehand that the Syrian regime was poised to launch a lethal chemical attack that killed more than a thousand people and has set the stage for a possible U.S. military strike on Syria.

The disclosure -- part of a larger U.S. intelligence briefing on Syria's chemical attacks -- raises all sorts of uncomfortable questions for the American government. First and foremost: What, if anything, did it do to notify the Syrian opposition of the pending attack?

In a call with reporters Friday afternoon, senior administration officials did not address whether this information was shared with rebel groups in advance of the attack. A White House spokeswoman declined to comment on whether the information had been shared.

Doctors Without Borders said 355 died.
Also, the use of gas could have been a trap for Obama. I certainly do not know who was responsible- the rebels or Assad. I dare say none of us does.

Re: "The U.S. Should Act"

The whole shmear is just such a reeking pile of pig manure.

Obomber is seeking approval from Congress for a "strike"-----an I don't think he means work stoppage.

I just wish we could get it done and over with.. I'm sick of the status quo.. Can we start the 3rd world war already... !!!

Read "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy.................sure you want that ???

Who is responsible, none of us knows. Obama is trapped by his own rhetoric.
Sanity is in short supply.

Rebels were caught, just recently in Turkey with Sarin gas.
They all had access.
The US does not have a clue as to who has chemical weapons outside of Assad.
Chemical weapons stocks have been moved, relocated, stored in different areas of the country due to rebel gains last year.
Obama is a dammed fool for setting the Red Line and doing squat. That is not the 1 mistake he has made in the ME, he has made numerous errors.

If this had happened in Russia or China, there'd be really nuthin' to discuss.

The term "damned fool" is a kindness.

Obama will take the issue to Congress.
His new body armor.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/01/world/middleeast/syria.html?hp&_r=0

WASHINGTON — President Obama stunned the world and paused his march to war on Saturday by asking Congress to give him authorization before he launches a limited military strike against the Syrian government in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack.

In an afternoon appearance in the Rose Garden, Mr. Obama said he had decided that the United States should use force but would wait for a vote from lawmakers, who are not due to return to town until Sept. 9. Mr. Obama said he believed he had the authority to act on his own, but he did not say whether he would if Congress rejects his plan.

“I’m prepared to give that order,” Mr. Obama said. “But having made my decision as commander in chief based on what I am convinced is our national security interest, I’m also mindful that I’m president of the world’s oldest constitutional democracy.”

Interesting article on the possible ramifications of a strike.

Re: "The U.S. Should Act"

It's all about control. Lebanon signed deal with Mobil to produce it's NG, but need to go through Syria to tie into the Arab Pipeline but Assad told them to f*ck off. Israel signed up with the Gazprom Ruskies which is why they sided Assad and Russia and in doing so Iran/Hezbollah

All along I've been saying this is all over natural gas but noooooo that would be a conspiracy theory because it's all about the Muzzie boogieman according to the Spastics

Tin foil wins again. Go f*cking figure eh?

Standing at the end of the road, boys,
Waiting for my new friends to come.
I don't care if I'm hungry or poor,
I'm gonna get me some of them.

'Cause you got to have friends.
Da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, friends.
That's right you, oh you, yeah you,
I said you gotta have some friends,
I'm talkin' about friends, that's right, friends.
Friends, friends, friends.
( Bette Midler)

Assad hasn't contested Israeli control of the Golan Heights. Pro Quid pro...

I know. This happens in Russia and China and... well you tell them to stop. lol.
They wouldn't just topple a couple of building as retaliation.
Besides, this is all over blown. Those people should just vote in a government like us. What is their problem? duh!

Re: British Parliament votes against British military involvement in Syria

As I watched the UN Rep answering questions after the Inspectors had left there was an answer he didn't give very clearly.

The reporter asked if the results of whether Gas was used or not would also include who did it.

He didn't come out and say Yes or No but said the report will also includes witness statements, which may contain proof of the canisters used and they would be able to trace that to the users.

The only military action US forces should take would be to nuke New York City and Washington, DC. Bad people live in those locations.

Why is it that Canadians do not fear America the way Poles fear Russia or Vietnamese fear China?
