If I feel like a decent steak, M&M's will do nicely.

When I feel like a special steak, we have a couple of local butchers here who are really good.

The thing I don't like about cut-and-wrapped meat in the freezer is that I can't see it before thawing and unwrapping. I like seeing cuts of meat, choosing the size, thickness, marbling, etc. that I want from a selection of offerings.

Sure, I'll probably pay more for that, but that's my preference.

By the way, if you want a really good beef roast, the Bottom Blade roast at Costco is superb.

And one of the best products at M&M's? Their pre-cooked Pot Roast, which comes on sale occasionally.
You're buying from the wrong producer if you can't pick your animal while still alive or hanging in abattoir

So talk to your butcher about how you like it packed. My sister's butcher vacuum packs.

I could do that, but I just don't feel much incentive. Fortunately, I don't have to watch every penny when buying cuts of meat, so the way I do it works fine for me.

The only cut-and-wrapped meat I have is venison from the deer we shoot every fall.

I would definitely agree. We tried the M & M pot roast on Wednesday and it was super. The biggest thing was the great sandwiches from the left over beef.

T-bones, rib steak, rib eye, ground, roasts, etc. What would you expect?

No. You can't. Not at the price you quoted.

Oh yes, roast beef sandwiches! Love 'em.

Those pot roasts are on a 3-day sale right now. $5 off. Good to stash in the freezer.

Something new we tried at our son's place a couple of days ago - Black River brand Angus Steaks (Extra Tender). Frozen product available at Walmart, 10 steaks to a box. Very good.

I have three M&M pot roasts in the freezer right now. Picked them up this morning. I have generally stayed away from Walmarts but the term(extra tender) interests me.

Even done medium-well on the BBQ, the term is not misleading. My wife and I bought our own box today. 1.7 kg for $23 but apparently sometimes goes on sale for $20.

We used another M&M pot roast last night. I cooked the first one in the microwave. This one I cooked in a small Dutch Oven.....one hour at 325 degrees. Melt in your mouth tender.....Excellent dinner. It was enough to serve four people for $10.00.

My wife and I have taken to always keeping a couple in the freezer. We buy them when they're on sale and we always have something good, easy and quick to serve to serve when unexpected company comes, or when we just don't feel like fussing with other things.

Right. I figured out that I could come up with roast beef, Yorkshire Pudding and all the trimmings in less that forty minutes including apple pie(which is my own).

M & M has a store in town. Unless you can scope out a good sale, their wares are pricey.

Can't really afford to shop there.

The local Independent Grocer stocks very good meat. Have great sales. We shop there.

Well, that and road kill.

Anyone here shop for meat at M & M meat shops?

We've been buying some meat there for a couple years now. It is a place to get absolutely perfect steaks, etc for special company....never been disappointed yet. Expensive but worth it.

Flyertown

We did for awhile, the product is fairly good, but mostly it's a rip off. I don't pay $10 or more a lb. for steak. Once in a blue moon when it's on sale we buy their lasagne.

Never heard of it. Our meat is either homegrown right here, Anna's cousin's beef, neighbor's pigs, a friend's bison from AB, or we shoot or fish for wild stuff.

you keep taking the neighbour's pigs, they'll have the law on ye.!

Last time I got some wild stuff I was 21.

too soon old.
