Canada is a country of law and order and it often costs us taxpayers a lot of money to maintain and enforce our laws.

In this country, everybody is expected to be law abiding citizens.

As well in this country, individuals don't get to chose which ones they will abide by and which ones they will ignore and do as they please.
We as a country have progressed well beyond that type of third world thinking.

Ever been in the capital? Or read a newspaper?

when we elect members to parliament, we pay them to do their job and obey the law.

As a taxpayer, i don't think it's not to much to ask people to do, particularity if that's what they are getting paid to do.

Does the tax rec'd from booze cover all the damage it causes? Takes a lot of money to cover loss of life, loss of family harmony etc.

True, but can anybody prove the damage done to society by pot? Has anybody died or been killed or injured because of pot? I can show how pot has benefited society just by the health benefits.

Sitting at home deciding on ordering pizza with double pepperoni or double cheese, I am OK with that.

I'm the wrong guy to ask about pot. Years ago I had some experience with potheads at work and mostly their level of accomplishment was substandard and one of them did stick an axe in my back, but I couldn't prove if it was pot or stupidity. I would imagine someone has died because of it, unless no pot head has ever fallen asleep at the wheel.
