No.... either someone is doing something that warrants killing them, or they are not. That is the basis of self defense law. You're mincing words.

I think this case ended up being determined by the antics of the prosecution.
That Zimmerman killed Martin was beyond question.
That Zimmerman acted in self-defence was beyond question.
However. . .
There is a legal doctrine that the person who starts a conflict cannot claim self defence. Hence, the key question in this trial, which was never fleshed out properly, is did Zimmerman take any criminal action against Martin before Martin began beating on him?
There was some testimony that Zimmerman reached for or grabbed at Martin, which caused Martin to respond violently. If this is true, Zimmerman could not use self-defence (grabbing at someone without justification is criminal assault). Yet, near as I could tell from my admittedly less-than-total attention to the case, this question was never really resolved; nor did the prosecution focus on it as the key to the case.

I believe it was Rachel Jeantel (spelling uncertain). Could you fill me in? As I said, my attention to the testimony was less than complete.
All they are saying is there is not enough evidence to convict for illegal homicide. (which the facts seem to bear out)
Theoretical scenario: Zimmerman follows Martin, because he is suspicious looking, the police get there, search Martin, and find stolen articles on him, would all the politically correct start accusing Zimmerman of stalking and call for Martin's release????
Yep, because the "politically correct" are all witless librul communists who hate America and puppies and support terrorists.

You will feel people stare at you. Judging you for what you think are unfair reasons. You will lose out on getting jobs for something you feel is outside of your control. You will believe yourself to be an upstanding citizen and wonder why people choose to not see that.
People will cross the street when they see you coming. They will call you hurtful names. It will drive you so insane some days that you'll want to scream at the top of your lungs. But you will have to wake up the next day, put on firm look and push through life.
I bet you never thought that by shooting a black male you'd end up inheriting all of his struggles.

Robin? Now there is a option Zipperman should have considered. It would have legitimized his claim of doing neighbourhood watch.
