Sheesh, I've heard nothing but good things about the man. But I guess there's exceptions to every rule!

Just the taxpayer who has to feed the S.O.B.

You've heard what you're told about him. I bet you haven't gone looking to see what all else the golden boy's been up to. Too many people with a hardon for harsher prison system really don't care about the problems.

As for feeding the D.O.B..... she's cheaper to feed than to kill.

Should I assume , Mizz Karrie, that you are also opposed to my plot to white slave her off to some horny ol' Russian Oligarch for quick heavy cash?

People don't like him because he's tough on criminals.

Personally I could care less how tough he is on criminals, within the confines of human rights.

My problem comes in with things like withholding medical care, misappropriation of funds for child abuse divisions, threatening political rivals, and a plethora of other controversies that hang over his head.

A Phony Murder Plot Against Joe Arpaio Winds Up Costing Taxpayers $1.1 Million - Phoenix - News - Valley Fever

I rank Arpaio lower on the scum list than the liberal student who made fake rape threats against herself on facebook, because she never framed anyone, and didn't cost taxpayers anywhere NEAR this kind of money. But, I'm willing to bet, since he's not a black teenager with a can of spray paint, right leaning members won't be nearly as bothered by his actions. (see, we can all make those sorts of accusations)

It's not actually all that bad! They have a sherriff in Phoenix that pretty well keeps all prisoners in line and very few of them return for a second dose!
Joe Arpaio was a decent person until all the attention went to his head and now he doesn't care about the prisoners constitutional rights as long as he gets in the news. That means he needs to be unelected, but with Arizona off the deep end politically I don't suppose that will happen.

Re: Life or Ol' Sparky?

Ol' sparky is out of commission and has been for some time. I guess lethal injection never got a fun show name.

Looks that way. Every topic gets 2 threads it seems.

I know in some states you get a couple of choices and I'm sure OI' Sparky is one of them. A real "red letter" day not only do you get a choice for supper, but also an exit venue..................woo hoo!

Of course you have to keep an open mind about this stuff, he probably deals with hundreds of felons on an annual basis, so I can easily accept that half a dozen may do some whining and of those probably 5 is for trivial stuff. He's definitely not dealing with altar boys. -:)

If he's such a sh*t hot Sherrif, why is crime so high in his County?

His county happens to include the city of Phoenix, sixth largest city in the entire U.S. so you are bound to run into a couple of hooligans.
