Nigel Wright, Stephen Harper’s chief of staff, resigns

http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2013/05/19/nigel_wright_stephen_harpers_chief_of_staff_resigns.html

Canadian federal Conservatives spring cleaning as more Neo-Cons fall on their swords for the good of the party because this party was elected on transparency and accountability. No envelopes of money here just $90,000.00 cheques on the public purse
Already posted elsewhere hours before you posted this, Mr. Parrot.

From my link: "Harper chief of staff resigns amid Senate expense scandal - Politics - CBC News

And the house of cards comes tumbling down again. The Harpo government has been in long enough for the idealism to wear off and the corruption to set in. It happens to every government that stays in power past the 6 or 7 year mark, and it happens like clock work. No big surprise here, just human nature and the nature of the political game at work. I wouldn't be surprised if Harpo himself will eventually have to step aside in the not too distant future.

Yup the political grim reaper is getting closer to Harper's front door
Not to mention there will be more and more things come out as the
cases go on, and there are three other Senators still under review.

The whole damn lot of them should be audited, never mind "under review". If we really and truly want to stop these abuses, what we need to do is make all expenses public. Every single last one of them. Post it online (I don't for one second believe this information is not already in digital/electronic format anyway) right down to the receipt received for a cup of damned coffee. If it goes on the expense accounts, it gets posted on the website. Period, no exceptions. Same goes for the MPs as well.

Every other employee has to justify their expense accounts, why in the hell don't ours?

I want to know how we make this happen. I don't want this to just get buried.

Through all this controversy you have not seen a peep from that idiot Trudeau !!

It looks like they are keeping him hidden because he probably has not figured out what's going plus he probably can't even formulate a response or question..

Thanks! I don't think I have ever been this angry, this disgusted, this motivated. They feel entitled to bleed us dry while people die in our health care system, and kids go to school hungry.

I haven't read up too thoroughly on them myself, but I've seen them crop up in the news more and more. They're a not-for-profit taxpayer's advocacy group. And, well, sometimes grass roots movements can make a difference over time.

Yes, that is singularly the most important part in all of this. Way to keep the partisan rhetoric wheel going! Do you get a cookie for being such a good little doggie?

Yeah because the libs will be crapping their pants too. They are ALL involved in this right up to their necks...and don't think they won't be trying to slice and dice each other if that works, but if they can cover everything with everyone staying "together" my guess is there won't be a party divide.

We have seen party member literally physically cross the floor. The lines are water marks only. It's the little people who stay partisan..these thieves are fluid.

It's not hard to figure out what's going: Senators - Lib AND Con
