Hmmm. So, if I'm reading this right, Spence has pointed out that the treaties are with the crown, and thus the responsibility of the GG.....but the GG is not supposed to be involved in politics persay. So, if she forces the issue, is she essentially proving to the world that Canada's treaties are unworkable under current political law? Is she potentially shooting herself and her people in the foot?
I for one really don't want this issue to go away. I want Spence to keep pushing even though I think she's doing it wrong. I want Idle No More to organize better and state their case strongly. I want to hear all this, and see a workable solution come out because of all of it. But part of me can't help wondering, given the international view of segregating an indigenous population, given the apparent clashes between treaty and political law, if the whole system isnt going to come crashing down as we know it.
