Nobody intentionally picks stats to shoot down their own positions.;-)

Well not smart people.

But as soon as you start being overly selective about which information you look at, you completely end up negating the truth. There is the old adage of there being three sides to every story; yours, mine and the truth. If someone is really interested in exploring an issue, they should try arguing against their position. It can be an eye opener sometimes.

Although, it is fun to pick far out articles, quotes or stats to troll the opposition into apoplexy

And then there are a few who call you a dummy, moron, or troll instead of just jumping to what they think the truth is! Of course that erodes their credibility!

I read an article once about the human mind's ability to discount data that does not agree with our preconceived positions.

And I have no doubt of its truth.

Wyoming is nice and mellow.

Blizzard Blowing the October day we were there 45 years ago. We had breakfast in Cheyenne with the intention of turning off at Rawlins to head for Yellowstone, but the road was closed so headed on to Rock Springs instead and got drunk!

Well yeah, lol, of course that's a whole different animal altogether!

Undoubtedly, to be fair though it can be difficult to "unlearn" what you've already learned and look at things from a new perspective. But that's what I find fun & challenging to do, if I'm really interested in a topic.

For what it's worth Colpy, I've really changed my view with regards to gun control in the time I've been here just from reading some of things you've posted about it. Now I don't agree with absolutely everything but I do think that I've opened my mind up and learned to view things from a different perspective, at least a little bit. Now I've never been one to jump to conclusions too much, but anytime I can understand even a small portion of someone else's perspective and see issues from more than one angle, that expands my world. It's growth.

Holy crap! Introspection!

I'm sorry, that might be my fault. :)

I am feeling unloved.:(

If I promise, cross my heart and hope to die, not to shoot anyone to death, can I stay?

Yeah, I think if you were to move in with me (where I can keep an eye on you) he'd allow it....................., oooooooooh hold on, there is someone else living here who may want a say!-:)

Um, yeah. You once told me that you're not allowed to eat in front of the computer. So I think you may want to check for permission on this one then. Lol.

"look at the way he was dressed.. He was practically begging for it..."

I guess that turn-about is fair play, eh?

Hey I would never say that, because that's as stupid of a thing for a woman to say as a man to say it.

However I could probably get in a little target practice on those who do say it.
