Any ideas on how to protect the 100,000 children killed every year by abortion?
Would it be safe to say it would be pertinent to tell kids to duck or wear body armer than, so we can maybe not trample the rights of firearms owners than?
It's ok to to force kids to duck bullets just because a woman still controls what's in her body? I don't think that is pertinent.
I'm just trying to get a better handle on what rights we are willing to trample and what rights we're willing to bust a nut trying to protect.
In Canada alone, there are almost 100,000 terminated pregnancies annually.
While on the other hand there are but a handful of children killed by gun violence.
I realize there's a bit of moral relativity there, but if we were to analyze this on a purely lose prevention scale, there is one right that seems to have a greater cost.
And lets not forget how that one right tramples the rights of more than just the unborn.
So the next time a cougar comes on the farm I should take it down to the (nonexistent) range to shoot it? What about that raccoon that is killing the chickens? Oh I know we'll show it the cat door so it can come in and be a pet. Great thinking.
The thought crossed my mind that if even one teacher was armed how many kids could have been saved?

Because they are dead? Anyone who would pose this question certainly lacks empathy.
But what about all the potential children killed if you wear a condom or masturbate? Calling a sperm a child is no less ludacrus than causing a fetus one.
When you look at the demographics of those 100,000 ended lives, you'd think non-whites were being deliberately reduced in numbers.
We have cougars around here. We let the Animal Control people look after it. Chickens? Try a better coup.

I hate to say it, but when I heard this story break, I thought, "Another one? Just in
time for Christmas too..." and that was back with the initial misinformation of one
dead & one injured....with the one dead being the shooter.
I assumed that some armed teacher shot the shooter at that point, but took a wait &
see attitude assuming the real story might not even be close to what was being
reported.
This was when the media was first pouncing on any tidbit of info & running the hell
out'a it. I assumed it would be hours before any semi-accurate information sifted
out of this mess.
I really don't know what to think about this latest round of....whatever this might be
called....in this latest school shooting. I don't have any answers, as I'm not even sure
what the right questions are yet.
I still want to know where Dr Drew got his nice shirt.
I haven't been pay attention to this, I'm waiting a few days to get a more complete story.

I can see that you view it differently, but I don't view it as life until it is capable of living outside the mother's body on it's own.
