It is the RCMP security that makes the calls. In this new world of terror I see no problem with this.

You are correct about it being the RCMP who makes the call, Goob..........all this fufurah about the PM is just that nonsense but that won't stop the media from slamming him. Sheesh. I see no problem either.......why take the chance that our head of state could be taken out by some dimwit terrorist.

So; if I read correctly, we should spend a bunch of moolah to provide our Prime Minister or other senior ministers with security and then deny them the use of them for the very purpose for which we approved them?

Typical Canadian retarded mindset. We have armoured vehicles due to a demonstrated need in this century but by all means let's keep them in the damn garage and polished to a high sheen lest we have to spend a dime or two putting gas in them.

They're intended to provide protection to our leaders so where would you idiots deem it appropriate to provide that degree of security; downtown Piapot Sask.?

Anybody stop to consider the cost to this country should a snap election be deemed necessary because our Prime Minister and couple of senior cabinet members were killed overseas? Buncha morons.

Are you seriously suggesting that the country of India can't provide world leaders with armoured vehicles...really?

Yeah I'm seriously going to suggest that! Ghandi's own body guards put paid to her. You think it's beyond the realm of possibility that India's security apparatus can't be infiltrated; really? You seriously going to suggest that?

Dear god man, get real. The damn things forte is providing mobility security for our Prime Minister, where better to provide that security than in a foreign country? You want the things confined to the envrions of Ottawa to avoid shipping costs; SERIOUSLY???

Your level of chagrin over this little canard is nonsensical in the extreme.

Yep, as anyone with an I.Q. of 4 or more can understand it's got nothing to do with capabilities and much more to do with the intentions of the nutjobs that are running rampant in all parts of the world!

Backwater, Ontario.
Kind of insulting to the host country. "Your security or armoured cars aren't good enough for me"

I was hoping the prick would use an armoured convertible. Top down of course.

I guess the pope shouldn't drag his personal bubble around on tours either.

Different situation. The Pope wants to be visible while he is driven around and he's not dragging his bubble around at my expense.

Of course not. But the issue isn't Indian security as much as some folks like to play it up. I have no problem with having the RCMP looking after security for the PM. At issue is whether they need to spend $36,000 per hour to fly limos around. They do not.

Well wouldn't that be properly determined by the guys in red that you're also paying a yearly salary to perform that particular function?

OR would you also suggest that too, is a waste of money? You'd rather default to Indian security being the responsible party to notify us of our Prime Minister's demise at the hands of Indian security detail personnel who were also Sikh extremists or El Queda infiltrators.

Hell; why not just Fed Ex Harper over there in an overnighter box and let him fend for himself? I mean it's not like he's actually the Prime Minister of a western democracy or anything; you know, the countries all those terrorist nutbars like to blame for their lack of adequate footwear.

No. That is why I have no problem with the opposition asking for answers. Are you an expert?

At least I've provided a link to a car that would have sufficed at a fraction of the cost.

It should be but at $36,000 per hour to fly limos around, one has to wonder.

You can bring "Indian security" up all you want. Nowhere in this thread have I said I think the Indians should handle security. At issue is the cost.
