1:58 AM I woke up to pee and scratch my nuts. Decided to see if everything was okay down at the 24hr drive thru window.

It's all good.

In Midland, we're doing pretty well. We lost hydro very briefly, but with the little bit of weather that we did get, it was very unexpected.

Ok for now on, you guys can look to me as your hurricane specialist. :p

Sounds like it's going as expected. Freak accidents happen, especially when you decide to venture outdoors when it's going on... Usually when you're in built up areas or near old trees.

Out of curiousity, what are you talking about?
The storm last night in ON came to us from the north. What's left of Sandy will pass mostly to the East of the GTA but we'll still get a little wind and some rain.

I think he's referring to the stormfront that Sandy is supposed to/has collided with. That's what is supposed to make it a monster storm around here as hurricanes are never that bad usually once they reach this far inland.

That's interesting. Since the windfield from Sandy is something like 800 to 1000 miles wide, where did you move the GTA to?

You need to do more research and you'll find I'm correct.

The storm wasn't coming at you from the North...The storm is moving to the Northwest. The direction of the wind isn't the storm's direction. How would you describe a cyclones movement through space based on the wind direction? The relation of the observer to the storms center will change depending on where the observer is...

 You can see the current currents...here:

We got wet and had some good gusts in Massachusetts. Some big trees went down. New Jersey took the brunt of it.
