So what would happen if it was a standoff between DUHbama and Mittens, the corporate shill? Would there be a chance of a sensible person in charge if neither were elected?

..

You mean a sensible politician???:lol::lol:

They both are good at debating. Most had high expectations for Obama while Romney's camp was downplaying his own expectations. Now Romney's will be set high for the next. It will be interesting to watch.

Obama is good at debating?

Yes I would say Romney won the first session. That does not mean Romney will win
the election. In addition there are two more to go and I would be willing to bet the
President will make a comeback in round two. I see this as nonsense though, as most
voters have decided who they will vote for. The other thing I have noticed is that Mr
Romney has not capitalized on his performance with groups he needs to win over.
The nasty add battle will determine the winner. If you look at the States needed to win
Romney could win many and score well, but the ones Obama will win have the Electoral
College Votes and those are still in Obama's favour.

It was excuse 'used-by-Romneys-campaign' prior to the debate. Keep up.

No, he's terrible. He has no chance in the upcoming debates. Anything but a landslide debate win for Romney would be a shock.

Debate = talk= generally equals bullsh*t.

I hope you notice my question mark as I was referring to another member's post.

Does he have to be?

It is kind of a good idea when going into a Presidential Debate.

Good article.

Presidential debate: Denver was never Obama

Everybody says it’s a game changer. I’m talking about the Denver debate, of course. Is there any other topic this week?

Well, yes; in fact, there are quite a few, but let’s stick with Denver for the moment. I suppose the first U.S. presidential debate of 2012 was a game changer for those who thought the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, wasn’t in the game. There were many such people, and not only among Barack Obama’s supporters. Nominating “Mitt” was like pulling teeth for many Republicans.

I always expected Romney to be in the game, so the debate wasn’t a game changer for me. What I never expected was for Romney to win, and I still don’t.

If Denver were to decide the election — that is, if nothing else occurred between now and voters going to the polls — I think Barack Obama would win by a nose. This isn’t good news for him, considering that before the debate he was leading Mitt Romney by a head, but it’s not yet fatal to his ambitions. Romney won the debate, all right, but (despite all the Reagan-Carter comparisons inundating the media overnight) not the presidency.

I too, still think Obama will immerge successfully on Nov. 6, but hey if he doesn't it's not the end of the world. I think the Democrats have traditionally been supported by the city slickers, and the Republicans more by the denizens of the rural areas, which includes many of the lower income and a lot of the labour force in industries such as farming ranching etc. If that segment get their wishes it won't hurt my feelings either. The only problem I have with Romney is I don't trust him.
