The Canadian government acted in contravention of the Canadian Charter of Rights regarding Khadr. They failed in their duty to protect Khadr. Even worse the Canadian government acted in support of his torture and ill treatment in violation of international laws. The Canadian government also with held documents from Khadr's lawyers that would have aided his defense.
If you read and understood those linked judgements, you'd know that the court has consistently upheld Khadr's Charter Rights and the Canadian government's obligation to Khadr as a Canadian citizen and insist Khadr be treated in accordance with international laws.

I oppose letting him back into the country, incarcerated or not, without knowing exactly how much of a potential threat he may be, or who exactly he has ties to. I want to know that national security is reviewing exactly who he is now. I doesn't matter at this point how in the hell he got there, he's there now. Actually, I'd venture to guess that being raised by someone who was a fundamentalist had the largest part to do with that.
I don't buy into the bull crap of labeling an entire group of people as evil like some people do. I do however have a healthy fear and mistrust of Al Qaeda, they are an excessively dangerous group. They've proven it, by their own admissions, time and time again.
We have enough dangerous people out on our streets, we sure as hell don't need to be importing them without at least knowing exactly what threats they pose.

Our Immigration Policy has put us in quite a pickle hasn't it? First of all we have a
Canadian citizen in prison in another country for deeds or misdeeds which ever
story you believe. Did he kill an American soldier the way it is stated? Remember
the football player that died leading a charge until we found out he died from friendly
fire.
On the other hand what was this Canadian citizen doing on a battlefield in a foreign
country as a child soldier? He wasn't kidnapped by some transient army roaming the
forest. In fact he was there with other family members engaging in some actions
contrary to Canadian interests as we were there, engaging the social infrastructure
problems that were being attacked by the people Khadr was friendly with, hmmm
I have a problem with that.
It is also documented that his father was killed in the cause against our interests and I
believe another brother was left in a wheel chair supporting other interests. This family
has said some really nasty things about our country and our way of life, yet they chose
Canadian Citizenship, and even worse we gave it to them shame on us.
Perhaps that is why the Federal Government finally got some backbone and delisted
some Canadians who lied and committed fraud to get in. I don't care too much for some
of the actions of our Tory Government but they have my applause on this one.
It is time we determined who gets in and why we should let them be part of our family.
We have far too many people coming from Asia, Europe, South Asia and even America
with gang connections and we see it in the bodies on our streets.
It is time to say enough, you have to be respectful if you want to come here and be a
member of my Canadian family and I don't care who you are as long as you embrace
our nations ideals. This little bugger did not he fought our interests half way round the
world. he came here to be Canadian at a different time and we let him in, so it serves
us right for letting him in. The only rule we can use now is he didn't live up to Canadian
obligations, he and his family sound to me like fraudulent applicants. Cancel his membership
and let him rot where he is. Not because he shot an American soldier but because he will
