The Democrats' Soft Extremism

Obama is out of ideas, and Clinton's speech was unworthy of him.

The Democrats' Soft Extremism - WSJ.com

These class president rah-rah get togethers are ridiculous and gross at best but I'm sure some may vote based on hip-hop stars, bibles, or the slickest language. Best of luck America.

Well he's got my vote, again. ;-)

After having watched both Romney and now, Obama.......I have to say Obama wins hands down.

He has the ability to reach into the hearts of people and energize them with his words. He appeals to the good and the decent in his fellow citizens. He reminds them that they have a duty to the country they love, a duty of care for all.

There is a fundamental difference between these two parties. The Republican party as it is today is one based on entitlement and the belief that corporations need less regulation and the rich need more tax breaks. The Democratic party believes that it is the very people they represent who should be at the heart of government policies, and that it is the American people, who when given the chance will rebuild America. I agree with him.

The one thing I fault him for is calling Britain America's closest ally.
P.T. Barnum was right.

Boy that Obama guy and Harper sure have a similar economic plan. Between Clinton and Obama I heard "infrastructure" at least 10 times.

In other words...pork. I've seen them ripping up highways and repaving them over and over the last 3 years. WTF?

Not everywhere has new roads. There are massive projets underway to move goods through out North America. Canadian infrastructure sucks. Rail is 120 years old and pathetic, roads are falling apart, bridges are bottlenecks, ports of entry are pokey and the list goes on.

Europe as rails as old/older,but contrary to us,they did not let it fall in pieces, and their trains are modern.
If only we had made more tracks across Canada, and possibly made some going to the north, there must be places where tracks can be installed.

There are and you can count on it. We are falling behind the rest of the modern world. Expect to see big changes in the next 20 years.

I can't wait, btw a few weeks ago here some talked about possible plan to have new rails in quebec, but apparently not rails that would go directly north of the province to isolated palces, but making a round trip around the province, its not tourism traim that is needed first its something that would bring merchandise, food to the north, which would i think make food cheaper for them.

He never said that did he? Rep or Dem it doesn't matter, domestic oil is about to flow after years of sitting, waiting.

Are you ready for some cheap gas that shows how domestic oil will drive the New American Economy if you vote Obama?

I read different news than most and read most news differently.

Offering a benediction to close the Democratic National Convention, Cardinal Timothy Dolan largely stuck to a similar script as he did when praying in front of Republicans at their convention last week, with two notable exceptions.

"We ask your benediction on those waiting to be born, that they may be welcomed and protected," Dolan, who as the Archbishop of New York and president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has spoken out strongly against abortion, said at the DNC.

And making what seemed to be a allusion to same-sex marriage, which President Barack Obama and the DNC have endorsed, Dolan said: "Show us anew that happiness is found only in respecting the laws of nature and of nature’s God. Empower us with your grace so that we might resist the temptation to replace the moral law with idols of our own making, or to remake those institutions you have given us for the nurturing of life and community."

Cardinal Dolan of New York made these remarks to the DNC while delivering the final Benediction to the convention. A strong caveat as to the perilous road the Democrats have endorsed.. that of moral relativism, radical individualism and self absorbed materialism.. a credo that will be terminal for any nation or civilization that embraces it.

The last thing the world needs is a new american economy driven by cheap oil. You'll no doubt recall the recently finished old american economy driven by somebody elses cheap oil.
