Breaking: Democrats To Update Platform To Include Reference To Jerusalem As The Capital of Israel…




(CNN) - Democrats will update their party’s platform Wednesday evening at their convention to include a reference to Jerusalem being the capital of Israel, which was not included in their platform this year but was in previous platforms, Democratic sources told CNN.

The vote is expected to take place by acclamation shortly after the convention is gaveled in to order at 5 p.m. ET, the sources said.

The 2008 platform read, “Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.”

But that language was not included in the 2012 platform, which was released earlier this week and adopted by the party at the convention on Tuesday.

Republicans have criticized Democrats for the move, with GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan saying Wednesday that “it undermines our nation’s support for our ally, Israel.”

Watched the entirety of Bill's speech last night. A bit long, Bill but you hit some good points. One of the points I found most telling was when Bill spoke of Republicans that he has worked with over the years and how different they are from this group of Republicans. The tea party, or as I think of it, the toilet paper party (as you would be lucky to have some to wipe your bum after these guys get through with you) has hi-jacked the Republican agenda - to the utter detriment of decent Republicans.

Democrats' Efforts To Reinsert 'God' And 'Jerusalem' Into Platform Met With Loud Opposition (VIDEO)



But when Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the convention chairman, came to the podium to ask for the approval of the delegates, those who shouted opposition to the language change were as loud, if not louder, than those who voiced their support.
Villaraigosa, in what quickly became an awkward moment, asked for the voice vote three times in all. After the second time, he paused for several seconds and looked behind him for guidance from a convention staffer -- possibly a parliamentarian -- before turning back and asking for a third vote.
Even though the no's were again as loud if not louder than the aye's on the third vote, Villaraigosa said he had determined that two thirds of those present had voted in favor. Boos filled the arena in response.

{In case you didn't hear yet democracy is well and truly dead, for the time being. I,m not trashing Americans, as the clip proves,you can literally **** on them and nothing happens but sad faces. Any wonder their country belongs to banks?db
