I once said/wrote in an open discussion about it,and said that those who are against death penalty,if we would ask them to pay from their own pocket to keep some of the more dangerous ones in jail, that i'm sure they wuld not want to pay a dime,so why forcing the families of their victims to pay for it with their taxes.

How do you know their money went to it? There is really no way to know which dollars go where. There are things done with taxes that I dont agree with. I imagine everyone has one problem or another with how tax dollars are spent. Its part of being in the society. You cant always get your way.

Can we start with the fella that killed all those prostitutes in BC and fed them to his pigs, and I will even pull the leaver.

Then I will be the first to sign legislation for the death penalty to be brought back to Canada..

\

Now there is a good place to start!

How many people do you think would be really bothered if Paul Bernardo or the likes of the guy who carved up the Chinese student were executed in the same room?

I would. Not because I dont think they should die, but I dont want the state in the business of killing people. The state has to be better than the individual. If these guys had killed relatives of mine, yes I'd want them dead and I'd probably want to do it myself. Even so I know that would be wrong and I don't want the state doing it either.

I think the arizona sheriff is right, they should not enjoy the time in jail, and they should not be in contact with other prisoners, since prison is called the school of crime, where they learn to make a weapon with any object.

Its called the 'school of crim' because most prisoners do eventually come out. Keeping them in such conditions is not a way to make a better citizen. Im not talking about murderers or rapists. These are other criminals that will be out in a few years, or in ten. Keeping them in such conditions is asking for more crime when they are released. Giving them training for jobs, or the ability to exercise or talk to other prisoners doesnt turn the prison into a luxury hotel or take away from the punishment. They are still locked up and cant leave. That is punishment. Any person who is free should see that. You can lock a person up in a luxurious mansion. If they cant get out its still a prison and undesirable to the person in it.

If we allowed abortion retroactive the problem would be solved. There was a really
good question asked. where were the other people who knew what was going on
when a child was being starved to death? The people who know what's happening
and say nothing should also be held accountable.
I used to be totally against capital punishment and if they were to use it, it should be
administered with severe restrictions.

1 people who rape or kill or torture children
2 planned murder for hire
3 murder as a result of gang violence
4 the killing of judges and in some cases police

In the last instance I said some cases for police. The cops have been behaving badly
of late and we can't automatically take their word for anything anymore.
I also left out politicians because I knew there might be a storm of protest.

Right... they want them to pay. For such heinous acts they want them to pay with their lives. Plain and simple.

And if you're reading this JLM... I'm not knocking you. I totally understand the rage one feels when we read these stories. Those that do perpetrate these crimes are monsters IMO. I have little sympathy when one on Death Row talks about being tortured by the system. However I am against capital punishment.

It is understandable, completely. When I hear about some of the horrific things that people do, I feel rage. I feel as if I could do them serious harm if they were before me. It's infuriating. I can't even begin to imagine the depth of that rage were some of these crimes to happen to someone I loved.

But at the end of the day, the "state" should not be in the business of killing. If we want individual people in society to be better than that, then we have to collectively be better than that.

I think thats something everyone would agree with. It was such a stupid deal to make.

Hindsight is 20/20. I don't blame the Crown, I blame the lawyer who sat on the video evidence. He was still an officer of the court with a requirement to turn over evidence.

She should never have seen the light of day again.

I am in favor of capital punishment in certain conditions. Killing a cop or security guard and there is no doubt of guilt is one. The other is impaired driving causing death.
The first is because I have no faith in our socialist dogooder just ice system making life in prison actually mean life. The second is because I have had the rather dubious pleasure of picking up the mess after one. It was not the guy's first impaired either. Hanging them prevents repeat offenders.

The police performed a piss poor search- it was in the attic from what I recall.

One of his victims the mother had locked her out that night as she was late again. heard her knocking at the door- Imagine what she is still going thru.

capitalism is the reason for starving children, death to the west

That makes you a parasite living off the misery of others- please let me know what type of climate you prefer and I will provide a list of countries that you can emigrate to- You are a man that will stand by his moral convictions - right? Or wrong?

Canada does not need the death penalty, give your head a shake,we evolved from murdering innocent people to just putting them in jail for the rest of their life, untill DNA proves them innocent or guilty.
The last woman hanged in Canada was from my hometown, for those of you that are bored google Florence Lassandro or maybe the emperor picariello, our Italian Mafia bigwig in Alberta and Fernie B.C. also known as the bottle king.

Florence took the noose for that piece of sheite.
And she was the last gal to be hanged in Canada.
There is a play about this tragedy and my home town actually celebrates rum runners days,The Emperor pic was a rum runner during prohibition.

Readers digest version for those of you that smoked grass as adolescents.......
Pic's son was in a car chase into the Montana border by the B.C. cops,Pic heard his son who was also in the chase had been shot by a Mountie or cop in Coleman Alberta,Pic rushed to the Coleman detachment, confronted a constable about his son being shot and then shot the constable dead.
He blamed his mistress,Florence Lassandro as the trigger person.
She was hanged.

Pic's son was shot but only in the hand.

We sometimes get too hung up on the punishment aspect of the judicial system. Prison time is no country club affair no matter where and how it's served. The purpose is to lock them up to make it safer for the rest of us, not to give the state the power to kill the convicted or make life as miserable as possible for them.

Yes,and i find it interesting that some people found reasons to hate what he did.
bunch of dumb bleeding hearts liberals.

I think he's still doing it. It totally baffles me why any respectable law abiding citizen would disapprove. I don't think he's had a single reoffender. Singapore's system works well too.!

Exactly, with conditions like this,it makes sure none of them want to go back there, the world should take example on that.

PS just cause in the past cruelty towards prisoners was acceptable, does not mean that we should have gone a full 180,and pamper them.
