You did not answer my first question. All you said was that you did work for that once and worked for the $6 you got. You didn't say how much effort you put into it.

I agree,some camps I worked in had a rotating schedule for changing the pactos,that meant everyone but cooks and management got one week of changing pacto bags on their 6 week tour in camp.
The thinking was if you thought you were above changing poo bags in the pactos then you weren't a team member and probably wouldn't work well with others.

Unless a guy has a REALLY bad attitude, I don't think level of pay translates too closely to effort. If I have a valid reason for working, I pretty well have a set pace, if the money bothered me I would go back to the boss and tell him and if I didn't get satisfaction I would quit, sometimes you have reasons where quitting isn't an option but you don't take it out on the job and you don't whine about it.
For some folks any job is a job and having a job is good,you can network with workmates and 92% of jobs come from word of mouth and contacts.
You have to start somewhere,I started at 35 cents an hour in my dads hardware store back in the 60's.
For some of our immigrants coming here and willing to work at mc dees just to be Canadian and "live the dream",I salute you!
These folks come here for a reason,opportunity and if they work hard they wont be picking off the onions on a burger for someone for very long or looked at as losers because the work at mc dees.
I worked some pretty shi**y jobs since 1978 but I always tried to better myself.
Got myself to the point where I make close to $700.00 a day,every day until it rains or spring break next year but I bagged **** and did some pretty dirty jobs so I salute these new pioneers.
