In no way does Chick-Fil-A discriminate against, or oppress anyone for their sexual orientation. In fact, they treat everyone the same way, according to the "Golden Rule".

And, the Bible specifically condemns homosexual activity. So, the owner of this chain is just following his religious obligations, when he opposes Gay marriage.

Denial of "Marriage" to gays in no way oppresses them.

Ahem- Religion is not to be used in the US Constitution. Separation of Church and State- You post is flawed, severely flawed.

Please show a link that they adhere to all federal laws and do not discriminate in hiring- promotions- and such- They do have to follow those Laws.

The attached Form 990-PF does not mention Chick fil A as a source of funding. Winshape Foundation is a garden variety estate planning device used by the Cathy family. The Cathy family is not Chick fil A. Winshape Foundation is not Chick fil A.

8O Yes it does, try pressing Ctrl and the F key at the same time, and search for Chick....you'll find Form 990 Schedule B Part I, under Contributors, lists Chick Fil A as contributing $7.8 million. The contributions from Truet Cathy are $9,460. Chick Fil A is the largest contributor...

I stand corrected. You are right and I am wrong.

What is wrong with Chick fil A making a donation to the foundation in question? The IRS recognizes the foundation as a tax exempt charity. The IRS would revoke the foundation's tax exempt status if the foundation didn't comply with the requirements of recognition and maintenance of that status.

Did I say it was wrong? More to the point, did Niflmir say that?

Chick Fil A can donate their money wherever they please. I couldn't care less. Though I think the comments made are pretty dumb, but I'm fine with people having the right to show us how dumb they are. In fact it should be encouraged often and without prejudice.

Baal,

Any conservative who believes in the rule of law must acknowledge that the 14th Amendment does not say "except for gay people" in its requirement of equal application of the law. In the absence of such an exception the language demanding equal justice must be taken at face value.

Goober,

The main basis used for Marriage is directly from Religious beliefs- So States and the Feds are violating the Constitution.Religion interfering with the States and Federal laws. Those that define Marriage as Male - Female are basing this upon Religion.

Grumpy,

America used to believe in the ideals
of freedom and justice, at least that was the dream. America used to provide solutions
and positive alternatives to the debate on issues of the day. The dream was to lift
people up, remember give us you huddled masses etc?
Look what they have become A place of division, derision, polarized hatred of each other.
America without confidence and without a lick of sense believing the world centers around
them and Jesus.

Excellent points made - while this may be a triumph for the far right, it proves this political orientation is without any principle and fails to adhere to our foundational ideals

Barney Frank - Gov't shouldn't discriminate against Chick fil A

Congressman Barney Frank, Massachusetts Democrat, gave me his thoughts on Thursday about the Chick fil A debate.
"I think it’s entirely legitimate for individuals to say, 'I don’t want to eat there.' I don’t think government should discriminate against Chick fil A because of the views of the owner," said Mr. Frank the only openly gay member of Congress who recently married his partner. "I wouldn’t want to personally eat there. I wouldn’t want to support a guy who thinks I shouldn’t have my rights, but I don’t think the government should do that." (Listen here)''

Unlike the hypocritical right who scream about family values and get caught soliciting gay sex in airport washrooms.

Are there more of them than non religious "progressive" dogs and bitches who indiscriminately create litters of pups, split up and whine for government to support them?
I profess no particular religious affiliation but still ascribe the the Judeo Christian ethic as opposed to none as it seems to have done a good job of country and family building and in the case of most denominations has changed with the times. Room for improvement on both sides.

I've always thought the 'gay lobby' was a paper tiger... they growl and posture and feign injury... but they got no claws or fangs. Maybe some of the politicos will quit fawning to their every perceived indignity at some point... and stop this absurd affirmation of such a self destructive affliction.
