You did read the post I made earlier? China installed 37 GWs of carbon neutral energy in 2009 and has installed far more than that since.

Do you know just how much power that is? Compare it with Canada's total.

And remember that, under Kyoto, China had no obligation to do anything of that nature before the new agreements that would be reached in 2012. Th new agreements that Canada sabotaged.
Carbon neutral as in carbon credit buying? Niiiiiice.

One thing that might make you think this through a little deeper is that there is Ford Motor Plant in the UK (at Davenport, I believe) that is entirely powered by wind power. There is also a surplus from that thet goes into the grid.
Got a link? I've looked and can't find anything on this.

What the scientists are telling us is that global warming will, ironically, have the opposite effect. The warming of the ocean currents that generate global weather patterns will cause much harsher (and colder) winters in the temperate zone resulting in a dramatic decrease in the world's food production. We would do well to take heed before it is too late, for "time obliterates the fictions of opinion, and confirms the decisions of nature."

Because everyone knows that the best time to grow crops is in the winter.

Seriously?

Never heard of winter wheat? Broccoli grows year round in some temperate climates. There's all sorts of food production in the temperate zone through the winter.

Seriously.

It's called winter wheat for a reason, not because you can harvest it in the winter.

LOL!

You may want to wiki that Ton.

Seriously!

Hilarious.

Spring wheat is helical. It's true. I read it in a report.

Have you ever heard of red wheat? This is truly what red wheat looks like. LOL

Hmm, can you show me where I said it's harvested in Winter? No, you can't, because I never said that.

Try to pay attention instead of looking to score cheap points.

Are you ****ing serious?

Yes, though I see you and Koko jumped the gun and missed the point. A poster talked about winter conditions and it's effects on food production.

Are you prairie boys now going to say that the winter weather has zero impact on winter wheat yields? That's laughable.

Suffice it to say, the temperate zone is large and covers lots of climate zones. There is a good deal of agriculture in the winter months across the temperate zone on Earth.

Durp.

Better go back and read your post,we also grow broccoli here in the winter.

Like you said.lol!

Do you know where the temperate zone on Earth is Kakato? I said broccoli is grown year round in some parts of the temperate zone. Use your brain before you get another time out.

I don't think that is a fair analogy of what a carbon credit is going to do. Let's keep it to energy so that the stretch isn't too much. If you want to continue to use the same amount of fossil fuel derived energy you would pay someone else to either cut back on their use or you would help fund a non carbon derived source. You should keep in mind that you ha ve the option of cutting back on your use, through conservation and efficiency or by producing your own energy at a reduced rate of carbon consumption or pollution.

That is the stupidest idea I ever heard of. Harper was right to get us out of wealth redistribution schemes like that.
For most industries cutting back would require cutting back on production , hence jobs. Meaning your goal is to turn Canada into another third world country with no jobs and lots of poor people. Except of course government employees who we all know are entitled to their entitlements.
