Of course, it was better when the US stayed.....they could learn something from the old British Empire. Insert yourself at the top, shoot the worst 1,000 arseholes in the nation, then let things go on basically as before........except with you calling the shots according to western values.

No, I think a more accurate statement would be that you can't force people to accept the liberty that you hand to them...if liberty is to be had, and is truly what they want, it can only be achieved by the will, and blood of the people...
The people need to rise up and take their own damn liberty...it's always been that way...

During the reign of the British Empire the rallying cry was "to make the world England". Now it is "to make the world American." The wonderful thing about empires is that they always self destruct. America is in its death throws. The only empire to have survived is the Roman Empire in the form of the Roman Catholic Church. They still own more world real estate than the Brits ever did.
And it is a damned shame they haven't done a better job of it!
Because it is extremely difficult to find a free, peaceful, democratic society on earth that did not develop from western thought and culture.
Because western civilization IS superior to every other civilization on earth.

You misunderstand me. Like Ayaan Hirsi Ali (an atheist, born a Muslim) I believe we should be a proudly CHRISTIAN civilization, tolerant of all others.
I tried to find this story in other than right-wing media, and I could not. The Mail seems to have carried the original story, and it is reproduced in many places, but none that I could trust.
Your first mistake is to trust any media, left or right. They all spin. It is surprising that more people's heads don't fall off from being twisted so much.
