More likely, those writing the story of Yeshua simply filled in the details of his birth and life based on OT prophesies. In other words, invention, made to fit (Midrash)

Nonsense. The surviving historical documents from the time of Jesus support his fulfillment of these prophecies, and the many eyewitnesses of them.
Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Every day I live, I see that contemporary reality, both in this world and in my personal life, continue to prove that the Bible is true.
Spade is probably correct and you have no understanding of how belief manifests in a person's life. You see prophesy fulfilled because you make events fit your belief. You start with reading into the word your preconceived ideas and beliefs, then twist events to justify you righteousness.
Every day I live, I see that contemporary reality, both in this world and in my personal life, continue to prove that the Bible is true.
More solid reasons why we knew the NT authors were telling the truth:
Shortly after their leader had been put to death, instead of going quietly into hiding to save their own lives, people started openly and boldly preaching Christianity -- they knew this could get them killed, and for many it did. People don't just do that. They had witnessed the risen Christ, and they knew there was more to history than their selfish little stories.
David Koresh's people still claim he's Christ come again, too.

The "yadda, yadda, yadda" that you added to the quote was where you IGNORED the fact that the NT writers included embarrassing details about themselves. Authors have a tendency to leave anything out that makes them look bad.
They aren't being put to death for saying that.
The followers of Christ were all scared -- all abandoned him, none stood by him as he was on trial and killed. But after the resurrection, they became bold.
No I haven't but I will see if I can find it.He is one brainwashed muffin! His suspension of disbelief is extraordinary. His dismissal of science tosses away his education. .And his apologetics for the "bad bits" simply ignores that it is impossible to step into the time, the language, and the cultural ethos of the writers who were not historians; they were creative writers who shaved facts to fit, and use legend as shims.
Morality, muffin, is not absolute; it is a function of time, locale, and culture.
Cliffy, have you seen the movie Pi? Adopted is searching for the 216 digit name of the Unkowable. He is wasting his effort when what he sees are mirages.
Point is, different times, different responses but in the end it's the same. He claimed he was Christ, had prophecies, was killed by non-believers and his people still hold faith he was Christ.
By whom? It could be shown that they were all false prophets except that believers would never accept proof of any kind. That is just the nature of of the beast and fundamentalists, as you have shown, can twist anything to fit their beliefs and vise versa.But he was shown to be a false prophet.
It's just the opposite, in the days the NT was being written everybody could show proof.It could be shown that they were all false prophets except that believers would never accept proof of any kind.
The bible is so contradictory and such a hodge podge of stuff that you can prove anything you want as long as you ignore that stuff that doesn't agree with your predetermined subject you want to prove.It's just the opposite, in the days the NT was being written everybody could show proof.
M'r:16:17:
And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils;
they shall speak with new tongues;
M'r:16:18:
They shall take up serpents;
and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick,
and they shall recover.
M'r:16:19:
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them,
he was received up into heaven,
and sat on the right hand of God.
M'r:16:20:
And they went forth,
and preached every where,
the Lord working with them,
and confirming the word with signs following.
Amen.
