This isn't about religious Freedom. It's a tool, that will be used to criticize Muslim countries. Of course, nations that buy weapons from us and open their markets to us, will be given a pass (ie Saudi Arabia). Basically, it's another way to level criticism at Iran, while fabricating the illusion of being an independent body. It's our version of the National Endowment for Democracy.

No, I thought you were referring to NAFTA.

Actually, it's quite common for the left of one jurisdiction to agree with the right of another jurisdiction, be it a country, province, etc on certain points and vice versa, or for the left or right to change its position or even switch sides completely on certain points.

This all falls back on the idea that left and right dogma needs to be separated based on economic (or fiscal) and social paradigms.

Is Uganda Muslim???? Or did you just forget to think?

Do you still have to be reminded to wash behind your ears?

"Is Uganda Muslim???? Or did you just forget to think?"

It's not even up and running yet. Wait and see where the money gets directed.
Yes, there will be a few minor projects directing criticism at non-Muslim countries to maintain some obfuscation of its real purpose.

"Do you still have to be reminded to wash behind your ears?"

That's a very clever insult. Be sure and write that one down. Otherwise, this monumental wit might be lost for all time.

No it will not be lost to time. Mother's use it all the time. The other ones is did you dry behind your ears.

Now check the map that was posted by MF I believe and these countries that have a policy of turning a blind eye to persons murdered because of their religious beliefs.

Now if a substantial number are Muslim, does that make them any less dead?

Or are you condoning the murder of religious minorities in Muslim countries.

In Hindu countries?

In China where well religion is frowned upon to put it mildly.

And somehow you think that is where the Conservatives will direct their programs and money? Really?
Does the National Endowment for Democracy go after the countries with the least democracy?

PS - it's good that you are a free thinker, because no one would pay you for those thoughts.

Boy am I slow. I thought Someone with the handle Mutha Fugger had joined while I was out. Must have been the walk I just had with a lovely young lady. Blood hasn't returned to my head yet.

Myself i agree with parts of the Harper foreign Policy. As you appear to be a thinking person, you are more than aware of how religious minorities are persecuted in many countries.

Why you think this target Muslim countries is beyond me. Their are other countries that do the same thing as many Muslim countries.

Would you like to be a Christian in Syria or Egypt. Or throw in Northern Nigeria - Or Saudi - Or publicly active as a religious person in China.

You are aware that aboriginal people are a religious minority in this country and that they are persecuted by our government (in spite of what some on here think). Will this new conservative bureaucracy deal with this injustice?

Is it really?

Are they free - Are people free to demonstrate in China - free to publish documents regarding corruption. Come on now.

http://report2009.amnesty.org/en/regions/asia-pacific/china#freedom-of-religion

Individuals who practised their religion outside officially sanctioned channels, including Christians, Muslims, Buddhists and others, faced harassment and persecution. The authorities harassed, detained and often ill-treated members of unsanctioned Christian house-churches, and confiscated or destroyed their church property. Falun Gong practitioners were among those most harshly persecuted by the government. In the run-up to the Beijing Olympics, thousands were reported to have been arrested, with hundreds imprisoned or assigned to Re-education through Labour camps and other forms of administrative detention where they were at risk of torture and other ill-treatment sometimes leading to death.

It would appear that, after the G8/G20 Toronto conference, freedom to demonstrate in this country is not so free.

Free to what, burn, destroy etc. And yes the police fuked up as well. Everyone wants perfection from them.
Try to keep it in the context it was posted with. OK
