so why are we bothering with a trial for conrad Murray?? It is reasonable to conclude that he was neglegent , left the room when he should not have, gave a drug he should not have, did not have any back systems or emergency equipment.....etc etc.....

Heck.......the "evidence" is there for all to see.......so why waste time and money on this and just send him to jail or lynch him???

Sorry........one cannot pick and choose who the law applies to ....... as the law must remain intact and followed by all. (IF one wants to claim civility & humanity ) Just because Gadhaffi commited crimes of humanity .......does not mean we have to lower ourselves to his level.

the purpose of a trial is a lot more than simply establishing "guilty " or NOT guilty. And no a trail would NOT have been senseless. That is what civilized people do when they arrest a criminal.

the tricky thing of course is that the politicians know what would have come out in a trial. Lots of information about the time frame when Gadhaffi was an american ally. You forget that the USG likes its dictators .......as long as they comply with the US wishes. and he did for some time.

So lets not be naive and say this is about time, money wastage. It is a politically based MURDER. (regardless of who did the shooting)

Ahhhh....excuse me??? Who the hell is Conrad Murray?????

Ohhhh.....Michael Jackson.....don't be ridiculous. Mr. Murray is not an absolute ruler that put his nation through hell for 42 years, murdering thousands. Mr. Murray is accused of breaking a set of laws.....but no one can be sure if he is guilty, and he has a right to a trial before a jury of his peers to establish his guilt or innocence.

Mr. Gadhafi is a Libyan.....he has no right to a trial by jury, he has no peers, there is no need to establish his guilt, it is already established, there is no law in Libya right now, and the Libyan people have disposed of him as they saw fit, and as it right.......and proper.

I have no doubt that someone just chambered a round in Gadhafi's own gold-plated Browning 9mm, and popped him once in the head. Good for them.

I agree with one thing....we should have bombed the crap out of Libya and then invaded right after Lockerbie........and hunted Gadhafi down then. But we didn't.

Oh well.

Better late than never.

BTW, you say this: "the purpose of a trial is a lot more than simply establishing "guilty " or NOT guilty", then never continue the thought........what IS the purpose of a trial then????????

Just for fun lets go from most important post to the least important one.
Amnesty International`s 2011 Annual Report:
The authorities restricted rights to freedom of expression, association and assembly and repressed virtually all dissent. Hundreds of prisoners continued to be arbitrarily detained on security grounds, including some who had been acquitted by courts or had completed prison sentences, although releases were reported.
Were any of those from the previous Gov that was overthrown, they are usually considered to be enemies of the State and are executed or exiled or put in prison for life. That also can be applied to citizens who co-op with foreign nationals to subvert the current Gov, it's called treason in case you forget what the term is. In Canada didn't we require people to have permits to picket or free-speech zones were in one specific area a long way from a 'main event', I don't recall any Nation saying we should be invaded because of that.

Foreign nationals suspected of entering Libya irregularly were subject to indefinite detention and ill-treatment; they included refugees and asylum-seekers. At least 18 executions were reported.
How about spies, were they also part of the ones who entered 'irregularly'? Who would seek refugee status in a Dictatorship, does Saudi Arabia get many asylum seekers? How many have disappeared vis US kidnapping on foreign soil? Gitmo, better or worse than anything Libya or Egypt had?

The government failed to disclose the findings of an investigation into an incident at Abu Salim Prison in 1996 when hundreds of inmates were alleged to have been killed by security forces, and took no action to provide justice for victims of gross human rights violations committed in the 1970s-1990s. ... At least 18 prisoners, possibly more, were reported to have been executed, many of them foreign nationals.
Again just what foreign nationals, if they were spies then that is the price for the crime. A hard lesson for the ones caught but a fair warning to any that would try and fill their shoes. Was it a riot, again being gentle isn't a requirement, Israel and the US both told Egypt to shoot protesters, Israel shot some that were still in Syria, nobody said boo to that. Bahrain used foreign troops to kill their own citizens, again nobody said ****.

In May, a newspaper close to Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi reported that over 200 people were on death row. In December, Libya was one of the minority of states that voted against the UN General Assembly resolution calling for a moratorium on the death penalty.
What were the crimes, probably more than jay walking. Last time there was a bitch about Iran having a woman on death row many here said it was 'barbaric' and nobody even mentioned that she and her lover had killer her husband, that 1st degree murder, a execution type of charge for countries that have a death penalty. That it was withdrawn is besides the point, how many has Texas killed?

A conflict that was started before 1969 when the coup happened. If the French hadn't interfered it would have been over in the first round. It isn't like he lied to get the war going.

Mass executions:
In June 1996, security forces killed an estimated 1,200 prisoners in Abu Salim after a failed prison revolt. The Gaddafi government began to inform some families of the victims only in 2001, and it never allowed them to take the bodies for proper burial.
Libya: Use Forensic Experts to Exhume Prison Grave | Human Rights Watch
Again when in prison don't piss off the guards, that is quite an easy rule to understand, now the survivors know what it means.

Iceland jailed some crooked bankers, did that improve their standing in the international community. A leaders first obligation is to his own people first, the law abiding ones were kept in poverty like in Egypt and many other places that can be named. You post would have had more merit if it was in the run-up to war, no big complaints in the previous decades.

Many western leaders had much to fear if Gaddafi revealed all his secrets.
Libyan papers show UK worked with Gaddafi in rendition operation | World news | The Guardian
That is to the shame of those other Nations, don't do stupid **** if you don't want to be embarrassed at some point in the future.
That was because Mubarak offered stability to the region. Now, Egypt is siziing up to be a lovely place. Not unlike Pakistan, we will have many issues to come.

It would be nice if they had descent leadership, but this seems to be the choice.

  • Scumbag dictator; or
  • Scumbag religious zealot
Not much of a choice I know.
He should have been more concerned with stability within his own country, selling gas to Israel at cheap prices while his own citizens were kept in poverty is how he got his ass kicked out of power. That is adding instability to the region twit.
Who is 'we' you got fleas?

I was embarrassed by your 3rd rate insults, let alone the repetitions of the same old stale ones. I was annoyed with your repeatidly saying 'answer the question' even after getting 3 or 4 replies to the same old question. Most but not least was your blanket advocating to any and all things that had to do with Jews, Joos as the term you commonly used but I guess that is just part of your Jewish side. You already know the ignore thing is temporary, soon as you are sitting on Jesus's lap it will be removed.

BTW some mod said SJP was banned for putting people on ignore and them taking them off rather that me not being willing to kick you ass from one thread to another, another embarrasing part in that it was always so damn easy. Shirley Bear it is time for you to go back to your box. lol

Be interesting to see what intel Turkey gets out of their incursion into Northern Iraq, not much being said about that. As you can see as soon as the word Jew is used around here you get posts like the one from ES,
I forget who all is Jewish here but it is not a small number. Not that all Jews have the same attitude as them, the ones supporting OWS movement, actively, seem to have their wits still attached, rather than being the armchair variety that permeate this place..

You've never kicked my ass in any discussion. I've disproved every single piece of crap theory you've ever posted.

Which is why you put me on ignore.

We already knew you were a nutter, there's no need to keep reaffirming it.

The Return of Barbarism
How imperialism corrupts the soul of America
by Justin Raimondo, October 24, 2011

“We came, we saw, he died,” babbled our notoriously bloodthirsty Secretary of State as news of Moammar Gadhafi’s grisly murder hit the headlines. Throwing her arms up in a gesture of mock-triumph, she averred – perhaps sarcastically – that she was “sure” her recent visit to Tripoli had something to do with the Libyan dictator’s death.
It’s hard to imagine a more inappropriate response to the revolting scene of Gadhafi’s last moments, as captured on video: beaten and bloody, propped up on the hood of a jeep and paraded through the streets of Sirte by screeching rampaging savages, these scenes elicited revulsion even from some pro-rebel Libyans. Here’s Andrew Gilligan in the Telegraph on how the ghoulish scene went down:
“In Benghazi, on the main square where it all started, they were slaughtering camels in celebration. There they sat, eight of them, feet tied so they could not move, quivering with fear as they were beheaded one by one. As soldiers fired rifles in the air, members of the cheering crowd held up the severed heads as trophies. They daubed their hands in the camel-blood, and gave the V-for-victory sign with dripping fingers.”

My darling Goober. I still AM seaching for numbers of those that the cruel and miserable dictator slaughtered. But found that article in the meantime....and it spoke to me. Ergo the need to share it with all the pals on here. ;-)

Haven't found any numbers as yet.......but some vivid descriptions of finger cutting and other gruesome 'punshments".

But will keep looking and post as soon as I find something ......In the meantime have a super evening .

Finger cuttings, please save some as Halloween is fast approaching. They make such great tricks over candy. Why i am sure i will have no children ringing my doorbell next year.
