Turkey seems to be making head way. Rife with struggle and clash, but trying to succeed none the less.
Sharia law in one country is different than in another - Seems they all have a different spin on it - And by gar theirs is the only correct interpretation- - And no it would not work in a western democracy due to the discrimination inherent in Sharia Law towards women.

Socially and geo-politically Turkey is leaps and bounds ahead of the average Islamic nation. They've been a trading nation for aeons in contact with several cultures and religions which helped fine tune their political structure. There is more than just Islam practised in Turkey. What are the odds Libya is as socially diverse and influenced by it's diversity?

They are not inflicting Democracy - Allah Forbid - Qaddafi stated that he would kill his enemies - Translation - Massive slaughter - So we are not "Inflicting Democracy".

Cunning, cruel, flamboyant and eccentric, at times Muammar Gaddafi seemed a parody of the villains that populate James Bond novels. But the colonel, who died Thursday without his battalion of all-female bodyguards but with his gold-plated pistol, doesn’t stand alone as a victim of the psychosis of power. He shares a long tradition with fellow dictators who have a penchant for crazy titles, weird philosophies, megalomaniac monuments and arbitrary social strictures.
What was vintage Gaddafi was also classic behaviour for dictators.

If I recall correctly, Gaddafi's golden gun was found during the ransacking of his palace. I guess he had a bunch of them.
We need to get out of Libya now and let the people decide what they want. The only thing our government should do is make damn sure that Canadian companies run their businesses honorable, if that is possible.
This is a tribal country, each with their own ideas and we can be sure that things will not be easy and skirmishes may probably break out now and then. I hope not and I wish them all the best but human nature is not easy to deal with. Just look at this form, how many times have we all agree!!!!!
