It's okay Attilla. The stench of your B U L L S H I T doesn't bother me. It might offend others but to me, It's the stench of successfully making you S H I T.

I love the smell of B U L L S H I T in the morning. It smells like Victory.

Isn't that why we have wives? I haven't paid a bill in years :)

I think most gov cheques can be direct deposit. I'll bet direct deposit is faster and more reliable.

I can't think of a single good reason not to have cheques directly deposited. I've been doing so since the early 80s and have never had a problem. Of course there are so many people who are suspicious of both change and Gov't. In the casino yesterday the woman on the next machine won a $1000 and took it all in cash. I asked her if cheques weren't an option...............she said I wouldn't take a cheque because she didn't want Rev. Canada to know about her winning. Winnings are not taxable in Canada, but she didn't care about that she didn't want it known she'd won $1000. Like really, WTF cares? A $million, well maybe!

I'm not sure if that's a problem...........I hate losing, but I love winning more.........speaking for myself they are not sucking food off my table, but I imagine there are a few who are. Now I've got an idea, I'm going to write my M.L.A. and see if I can get a breakdown of where all lottery proceeds go. Thanks for the idea.

Then Postal Workers have no bargaining power...No Bills ...No Junk Mail ...+ Government Checks...Win Win for Everyone but postal workers..

Except that would be government paying government to mail things. Not the best in terms of a viable business model. :)

Depends, with downturn in economy, there's a chance the employer has no money for raises.
In many cases it's about corporately ruled government cutting pension benefits at the same time as the politicians and executives are giving themselves massive raises, while telling their workers they cannot afford to give the employees raises or maintain their benefits.

Harper ran on a platform saying he wanted to insure Canadians had enough of a pension to retire with dignity, and now he turns around and assists private corporations like Air Canada to outsource jobs to India, and cut their pension benefits and role back wages for new hires. Now he has allowed Canada Post to lock-out their employees, and now wants to blame CUPW for the mail not flowing, saying it was damaging the econony. First of all CUPW was still working and still delivering mail even though theyy were employing rotating strikes in an effort to get Canada Post to fair bargaining. Fair bargaining involves both parties putting proposals on the table, and negotiating and compromising to reach an agreement acceptable to both. Obviously Chopah needs to go to school and learn the meaning of the word NEGOTIATE. Negotiating for Chopah, the federal government and the corporate sector means they put their demands on the table, and you either accept them, or they get their puppet politicians to legislate the workers back to work, and as punishment impose a contract on the workers that takes away most previous gains made by the workers at the bargaining table. It will ultimately mean that nobody will be safe from government interference regarding their working conditions or their right to freedom of association and collective bargaining guaranteed by the Charter.

Many who are dumping on the CUPW, Air Canada unions and many other workers simply because they make far more than they do, had better remember that once unions have their rights taken from them by corporately owned politicians like Harper, and Company, the corporations will them turn their attention to the non-union workers who will have nobody to speak for them, and don't for one minute think the Liberals will be there to help you, because they too are owned by these same corporations. Think where this is leading before you wish for something that you likely won't like when all is said and done. The corporate agenda is to lower all wages and benefits to the lowest common denominator so they can bank even more of their profits for the executive types and their shareholders. If you are not a major shareholder, you had better be wary of what you wish for, you just might get it, and it won't be very far in the future if corporate executives have their way.

No I am not a member of the NDP, and I would not vote for them simply because they too want to interfere in every aspect of people's lives, with nanny-state style expensive programs that will require massive tax-increases to fund them. What I want is the freedom to associate with whomever I want the right to collective bargaining without political interference, and not be subjected to paying for programs and services directed at special interest groups and being forced to pay for them through increased taxes. I struggle every day to keep a roof over my head, food on my table, and the few pleasures I have left in my life after I already pay high taxes so corporations and their political puppets can live the life of luxury, while paying little or no taxes.

Perhaps they hope to get better work conditions. According to me, they're lucky to have a job.

Absolutely.

Let's Globalize and level the standard of living out to the world average, which is 36 trillion dollars divided by 6 billion people = $6000 per person per year.

How dare workers demand more than the global average. Surplus is for shareholders, and if you don't have enough money to buy shares, then that's just the hand God dealt, so be with it or blame Him if you don't like it.

Our ancestors moved here and killed natives in order to make sure they could live at the same standard of living they left behind by exporting the surplus to China.

Lucky we now have a Christonazi government to make sure things will go properly that way.

Did you really think a border was going to protect you?

Do the contributions match the pay outs? If I'm paying $2200 to your $80. The CPP has some really really big shortfalls. Do the math and tell me I'm going to get something back.

I enjoy being a UNION employer.

My ancestors came to build the country because they were asked to. Were you asked to come to Canada?

“Petros: said my ancestors came to build the country because they were asked to. Were you asked to come to Canada?”
Your ancestors were ‘asked’ to come to build the country?!? Huh, please explain. Where are your ancestors from and who asked them?

Without going into historical details, YES, I was asked to come here. And, once again, just for your edification - knowing fully well that it is a wasted effort - I did my share of work and I provided my contribution to Canada on my own merit, without union thugs to pretend to speak for me, while stuffing their own pockets.

“YukonJack said: Without going into historical details, YES, I was asked to come here.”
As I asked Petros: who asked them and/or you?
Guess I’m not knowledgeable enough in history..

I think some are missing the "bottom line" with the Canada post situation. The Gov't. and the union are in second and third place here, what they should both be fighting for is continued or increased patriotism by the users. In the past couple of weeks how many Canadians have opted to use the internet or couriers and have abandoned Canada Post?

A cheque cannot be sent digitally, so with an economy on the rise (supposedly), the mail still holds a pretty significant presence. Since the post still rakes in a hefty profit, there is no threat to their existence in this industry. The only threat came when they decided to lockout their workers. A move that would not only hamper their bottom line, but threatened many other businesses as well.

For some reason, this was attributed to the strike, but since they were rotating prior to the lockout, it's entirely the corporations fault.
