Re: Canada Post on Strike ????

They sure do. They bought a nice big chunk of eBay and partnered up.

You mean the Canadian tax payers bought a chunk of eBay.

Canada Post's revenue from operations decreased from $6.1 billion in 2008 to $5.8 billion in 2009, a decrease of $268 million..
source: Canada Post - Annual Report

As more and more induviduals turn to electronic e-mail, Canada Post will have to raise rates (again). 10 years from now I seriously think there will not be a need for snail mail.

Spending tax dollars on a industry that is slowly becoming obsolete makes no sense, and as technology increases with video chat on cell phones and other devices.. Canada Post has no future.

How did UPS do during the crash?

Because, privatized, they would make us MORE money.
How can it make you more when you don't own it?

Oh wait. I've heard this story before. Yukon Jack and the Beanstalk.

I've got some magic beans for you buddy.

Do you really think I'll get CPP? I don't.

One more thing...as an employer I have to match what employees pay in. If I'm not going to get CPP and my employees aren't going to get CPP why the **** am I paying and why are they paying?

Oh right. For sh!tty immigrants who are ungrateful.

2011 is only half way done. How much did UPS lose in the 2008-09 crash? You knew UPS took a bail out didn't you? Taxpayer support.

Don't be an employer, if you don't like it.

Your ancestors were once 'sh!tty immigrants'. And they obviously, taught you how to be ungrateful.

If I'm paying for you and the bulk of the population is pension due, who is going to be there to pay for me? Will they have to pay $15,000 a year or 20% of their earnings?

Do the contributions match the pay outs? If I'm paying $2200 to your $80. The CPP has some really really big shortfalls. Do the math and tell me I'm going to get something back.

I enjoy being a UNION employer.

My ancestors came to build the country because they were asked to. Were you asked to come to Canada?

Your sarcasm is priceless. As in something that has no value, has no price.

And for your edification, if I don't own it, it does not cost me money.

Which, in today's freeloader world means that I am making money.

The new conservative thinking - sell off anything that makes money for the government, because then your friends can make more money from it.

Without going into historical details, YES, I was asked to come here. And, once again, just for your edification - knowing fully well that it is a wasted effort - I did my share of work and I provided my contribution to Canada on my own merit, without union thugs to pretend to speak for me, while stuffing their own pockets.

Re: Canada Post on Strike ????

eh, they did not get a bail out and they are making more money than Canada's GDP.

point lost.
Holy **** you're dumber than a bag of hammers. UPS is Teamsters and FED-Ex is Railway Union. Now how will you get you packages delivered without a union driver? UPS UNION, FEDEX UNION, USPS Union, CanadaPost UNION....

I think it will probably balance out- while the people of employable age is decreasing that is probably offset to some degree by the recent advent of two parents working, but that could be further offset by two parents drawing pensions so maybe one parent should start now having a passel of kids to support them in old age.

But I was earning $20 a day while typical worker today is earning $100-$200.
