I'm thinking about the issue in Ontario and the legalization of prostitution.

Maybe there's a real opportunity to repackage those buggy whips to accommodate a niche market.
Ontario and those damn Amish. At the least the Hutterites in the west will drive a grain truck to Zellers without leaving horse**** in the parking lot garbage cans.

How about the passenger whipping the driver and we leave the horses in the pasture?

The burning question is what are all these strikers doing to curb inflation? While they go up the rest of us go down!

Considering their salary increases aren't even as high as inflation rates, it doesn't look like it will make much of a difference.

House of Commons to debate back-to-work bill for postal workers

OTTAWA - It's the last day of Parliament before the summer break, Thursday, but back-to-work legislation for postal workers is still up for debate in the House of Commons. The NDP could force the debate to go late into the night and possibly into the weekend.

While talks between Canada Post and the union have broken off, but the NDP said it will do all that it can to fight the bill.

The NDP has been pushing hard against this legislation, saying a labour deal shouldn't be forced by the government, and that it needs to be worked out between both sides. The party has promised to use every strategy it can to delay the final vote, but government House Leader Peter Van Loan said the Conservatives are ready for the battle. "The position of the government is quite clear, we're going to be here working on this matter to put an end to the work stoppage, and if that means we have to sit all through the weekend and into next week, we're prepared to do that," he said.

The back-to-work bill contains a number of controversial measures, like lower wage rates than what Canada Post is offering.

The Senate has also promised to extend its session until all government bills are passed.

Never mind back to work legislation!

With the majority we have, think about DECERTIFICATION of not only the postal 'workers' but all public service unions.

After all, Reagan did it in the United States. And anything they can do, we can do better. NO?

petros, it really difficult to be civil with you, but let me try. I was promoting the decertification of public service unions, because the only opponent they have is YOU, the public.

Do you really think the 'Chinamen' as you refer to them, would do Canadian Government jobs?

And for your info, my meds, unlike yours, are not for my mind, but for my arthritis.

According to you all the Govt employees are from Asia anyway.

Your CPP went up 1.7%. Did you turn it down or give it to charity?

Two things, petros:

1. Prove that I ever said that "all the Govt employees are from Asia".
2. What I do with what I EARNED is my business.

Actually, a third thing: Tell me why public service Unions should NOT be decertified.

Re: Canada Post on Strike ????

Has anyone noticed that Canada Post is on strike??

Has the strike effected you in any way??

Is it time to Privatize Canada Post?? www.PrivatizeCanadaPost.com

What do you say about the strike??

It was the unions greed tactics that lead the postal service towards outsourcing certain components, with any luck, this strike will generate the same results.

Maybe it's time for Canada Post to install super mail boxes for all the residential/business customers. I also understand that the sorting facilities are being upgraded with more hi-tech stuff that will whittle the union down further.

High time, I say
