I find thomas to be disgusting, and yet, at the same time typical. Typical of many conservatives that will take advantage of things like affirmative action, or "lax" immigration laws in their youth, and then bite the hand that fed them in their old age.

With the video, the comparison is flawed.

As an example, Clarence Thomas. The only reason the man got into Yale was because of affirmative action. The only reason he stayed and graduated from Yale was because of his academic proficiency. With out affirmative action, many financially disadvantaged minorities would NEVER have made it into post secondary institutions.

I don't see much affirmative action around here this morning, mostly negative.

On a high note: it is raining in Nakusp and I'm going out in it to set up a bunch of tents and tipis for the third Nakusp Aboriginal days. Hope the sun is shining on someone's day.

Any reason or logical thinking to say why 0bama got into ANY school of higher learning was due to anything but affirmative action, register your votes here.

Sports in general seems to get a lot of special standing...(probation for double murder charges!) It's hilarious that anyone would think affirmative action shouldn't apply to sports, because that should be merit based, but think that it should apply to other areas like fire departments, university acceptance, etc. I doubt there would be much change in that opinion regardless of the racial make-up of the team in question.
