Wow... You are still really sore about your party getting trashed in the last election.... I never realized how badly you're feeling until just now.

We already debunked this argument as the 'sour grapes' fallacy.

Keep up with the times.

And by the way, your amnesia is kicking in again. If you want to do the same song and dance we did a couple pages ago, just so you can have your posts deleted (lol), go right ahead.

The lies were discovered, trust was lost, the sixties happened. Hippies brought their ideals to the world, ended war, brought about civil rights for non-white people. Bought houses, paid taxes, became the establishment, then the pigs they worked to unseat.

Now I think it is again time that the lies have been discovered.

HIPPIES!!!!????

OMG! How OLD are you???? lol lol LOL

Exactly WHAT war did the hippies end???

Certainly not the Vietnam war, which didn't end until 1975...........and then carried on into Killing Fields in Cambodia (the Chinese-backed Khymer Rouge) until the (Russian-backed) Vietnamese invaded in 1979.........

Brought about civil rights??? Oh spare me.....civil rights legislation was achieved (by Lyndon Johnson) in the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act, neither of which had a damn thing to do with Hippies....

LOL

Read a little history.

You have to understand that these folks desperately need something to cling to; something to validate their own inaction.

Yup! The Vietnam war. No it wasn't some snappy gun handling by a few security guards it's was the protests at home, which were fueled by the Hippies and youth of the day. Deal with it. While there was excursions into Cambodia it was denied by Nixon regardless of the evidence showing what was going on.

The establishment was doing nothing to change the plight of non-white Americans right up until the late 50s when MLK
led the charge to bring them about. Johnson did little more than lie and bow to public pressure to enact the legislation. Hippies is used as a generic term for youth much like Hipster is today. That it doesn't take into account all the other self divided groups people segregate themselves into to show their desired individuality and uniqueness.

Sometimes reading something in a book just doesn't convey the truth in history. Sorry for you.

As usual, you have NO idea what you are talking about.

The Vietnam War did not end with American withdrawal....,,,and that withdrawal was not forced by "Hippies". Nixon was elected in 1968 on a promise of "peace with honour"....by the majority of the American people. The invasion of Cambodia was announced by the Nixon gov't, that was what set off the famous Kent State riots and shootings.

And even AFTER the war "ended" in Vietnam, the political games between the rival Russian and Chinese backed factions in the area led to millions upon millions more deaths....

NONE of this (thankfully) attributable to drug addled youth of the time....of which I most happily was one.

The idea that "Hippies" even existed in any real numbers in 1965 (outside of the Merry Pranksters and some others) is ludicrous. The idea that that tiny group had some effect on the political moves of a man (LBJ) that worked and fought for civil rights and was essential to the passing of the first Civil Rights bill in 1957 is worse than ludicrous......

How does it feel to have your arse handed to you over and over and over by a lowly security guard????

Go learn something, little boy, then come back and try again.

Anti-Harper protest will snarl traffic: police

Demonstrators will march through Ottawa late Friday afternoon

A march by people protesting against Prime Minister Stephen Harper's speech at the Conservative Party's national convention will cause major disruptions for Ottawa commuter traffic late Friday afternoon, police said.

The demonstrators plan a rally at 4:30 p.m. at Dundonald Park with speeches by the former parliamentary page, Brigette dePape, and by the president of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, Denis Lemelin.

From there they plan to march through the downtown core to arrive at the Ottawa Convention Centre by 6:30 p.m. "More than 40 community organizations from Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Kingston and Vancouver have endorsed the march," according to organizer Pete Blais.

"We invite all those opposed to Stephen Harper's right-wing agenda to join us," he said.

Traffic disruptions are expected to last from about 4 p.m. until about 7 p.m., police said.

Kinda verifies my low opinion of the left when they idolize a young woman that violated a trust to disrupt the Parliamentary procedure that most symbolizes the primacy of the people..........

The left hate the people, they only love ideology.

Hey, now you're starting to sound like one of them union elitists.

blush.

even though I support the Conservatives, I actually prefer to take the side of the union with respect to labour discussions,
