George Bush and his friends not only destroyed the economic stability of the country
they ensured its return to prominence would be long and painful. Remember such
groups a Enron and others who were allowed to abuse the system? I also blame
Clinton for some of this as well. Large companies were allowed to move off shore
and destroy the manufacturing sector, without regard to the well being of America.
How is it nations can be punished for not conforming to the well being of countries
around the globe, yet there is no restrictions as to how companies can behave.
Especially when those companies derive their income and tax concessions from
government. Obama has not come down as hard as he wanted to on companies
for good reason. He brought healthcare or the beginning of healthcare to lower income
and average working families and trade offs are required for that.
America has a long way to go before it will enter into the modern world. They are
obsessed with dark shadows that might have a communist hiding there. I am speaking
of social programs and environmental issues. They have problems dealing functionally
with sexual discussions, around contraceptives, stem cells, and relationships. The
whole society is dictated to by endless charlatans posing as pastoral advisers. Yes
religion clouds the view of their existence. There are people starving to death on the
streets , there are homeless eating out of garbage cans, and for the lower classes the
education system is dysfunctional at best. What is the main concern on Television at
times like this? Whether there was a wardrobe malfunction, at a football game and the
nation was shown a bare breast on NFL Halftime. Or is Arnie going to get threw the
pain of divorce as a result of his bad behavior.
American need to be confronted with a reality check. If the country were turned over to
the likes of the Bush family or the Palens, they are not going to survive as a nation let alone
as a major power on the planet. America is in denial and at least Obama is trying to improve
the situation, which is a thankless and slow process when the citizenry can't seem to follow
the bouncing ball as it were. America is no longer the greatest show on earth and they
can't understand why they aren't, instead of doing what is needed to get on the path to success.
The Republicans are not the right path to progress they are the voices of the past hundred
years not the next hundred years.

I would be shocked if Obama didn't get re-elected. His supporter's unfaltering loyalty borders worship.

I wouldn't get too shocked, if you check back it was as recent as April 30 that his ratings were in the basement.
Yeah, Osama's sudden demise gave his ratings a good boost and probably rightfully so, but people have short memories and now with all the tornados he'll probably get the blame for most of them. :lol:

Actually I thought Bush "dropped the ball" with Katrina..........regardless of what he could or could not have done, he should have been on the first plane down there, just to let the people, the Louisiana State officials and the New Orleans officials know of his concern and perhaps see to it that "department heads" were competent and in place and established a reporting protocol.

Blaming the problem on a guy who Bush appointed is a cop-out. The leader is ultimately responsible for the failings of his team. He hired someone incapable and inept and should have the full responsibility on his shoulders.
