... and houses and ATVs, etc...

Houses are tough- I know I just bought one. I had to prove where virtually every nickel I was spending came from (produce all the paper work for the sale of my previous house and produce bank statements for all deposits into my account for several months). I don't know this first hand but apparently any deposit into a bank account exceeding $10000 has to be accompanied with proof of the origin of the money. Of course it CAN be done, but I think only a brazen idiot would take the risk. From what I'm told this is a fairly recent procedure in the war against money laundering.

And so will be Jack and iggy for bringing on an election that no one wants or needs.

Iggy and Jack should at the very least be charged with public mischief, with serious consideration being given to treason charges. If you and I saddled our fellow Canadians with a $300 million bill, we'd never again see the light of day.

I think it's time for a majority government . I'm just tired if all the bickering that goes on in Ottawa with often no real progress.

I am ( meaning all of us voters) should be deciding if the government has done a good job or if they should be kicked out. I am really really tired of the opposition, treating us like bimbos as they think we are stupid and THEY (opposion) should be telling us the government in power does not deserve to govern.
THAT OUR JOB TO DECIDE IF THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE KICKED OUT !!

Whew, I just had to get that off my chest ^^!!
You prefer the present government that treats you like a bimbo as they think you are stupid and they should be telling you that they are the right bunch of psychopathic pricks to rule over you?

Election is on and when its over we will have what we have now another minority.
After the election Iggy, Jack, and Harper will be gone, and only the Block will have
the same leader. I for one would not for the Tories under the current leadership,
Never would I vote for a social conservative. I have trouble voting for the Liberals
with Iggy at the helm. My least damage vote is for Jack. I don't want the services
this country has fought to gain destroyed by a bunch of Reformers pretending to
be mainstream conservatives. It is going to be a nasty fight though and it is going
to loud and not for the faint of heart. A good ole election with the gloves off. It has
everything, old scandals, new scandals, contempt of Parliament, prostitutes, oh I
mean escorts, influence peddling, say it sounds like the old government does it not?
So much to look forward to, and a bill to match It is show time.

You can bet your bippy! I want an X vote. Kick all the bums out and start all over again.New constitution ratified by the people, new way the government is run, proportional representation, no parties only independents, laws passed by consensus, the whole nine yards. The party system is corrupt beyond repair, corporations run the show, the people are ignored. Time for everybody to grab a set and stop playing the same old game.

I realize that you are trying to hit below the belt there, but perhaps you were not aware that we live in America, of which Canada is just a the biggest part of the northern section. The US is beyond redemption and a much bigger insane asylum as far as numbers go. Also, the US and other foreign interests own the majority shares in our resources and for all intents and purposes, dictate how our country operates. They just give us the illusion of freedom and democracy. I think if you check Canada's portfolio on the New York Stock Exchange, you will find that the US and Briton own most of the shares. We are just chattel to the corporation of Canada. Until people wake up to that fact and take back this country, we will be nothing more than an inconvenience to the ruling elite.

Oh of course there's a federal election now. I have never had a stable address during a federal election and Jack Layton probably found out I was moving next month and decided to vote down the budget. It's always very confusing. I'll probably end up voting in the riding I live in now, which I won't be living in come election time, but I'll see if I can get out of it. The riding where my new apartment is in is actually competitive. If I get in, I won't have to pretend I'm not cynical about my vote!

You guys don't know why ancestors fled Europe to put up with mosquitoes in order for their kids to have a better life.

Next you're going to say its okay for Harper to cut not taxes to the people making jobs, but to those exporting jobs out.

What are you going to do when the reality comes in that it takes four planets worth of resources to maintain survival on middle class for nine billion people?

Aww... I know... cut taxes for corps to run away with that stuff, when at the least you could honor your ancestors and at least allow yourselves a middle class standard of living on that resource sales for them having fought the mosquitoes.

Duh... I bet you could get Harper to make a deal that he would build a church for every place raped.

Except for one thing...

What about French Canadians who actually live here?

Yep. All opposition parties have said they will not support the Conservative budget.

Therefore the government will fall.

So we get it on.

Spring election likely as all three opposition parties reject Tory budget - The Globe and Mail

Opposition says budget falls short

Come on down, single term Conservative majority!!!!!!

How in hell do you elect a single term Conservative majority? A new election was Harper's idea. He knew
what the opposition wanted and he knew what would be unnacceptable. I doubt if there is a Harper majority
in the near future. We are headed for another minority......which is probably for the best.

You have it pegged pretty close #Juan. I see Layton and Ignatieff as opportuntists who are not closely connected with reality (the country is on the virge of being broke) I see Harper as having his share of flaws which may or may not include his determination not to back down easily. I see Flaherty as the strong link in the chain, so I'm holding my nose and hoping for another Conservative minority (at least until Harper is replaced with a stronger leader)

Let me get this straight....you think Farty is a moderate?

You don't live in Ontario do you?
