So now you use fairy tales to make a point. Well when nothing else works you have to resort to whatever will work. What next, Red riding Hood waa a transexual who well i will stop now.

Chretiens govt was corruption run rampant - same with democracy - he ran the country the way he wanted to. Have you forgotten that???

No, I haven't forgotten surpluses, debt repayment, low unemployment and no Canadian troops in Iraq.

It's a 'mistake' to change a legal document after it's been signed?

She most definitely should resign.

A Minister should be fully in their rights to cancel anything that is dreamt up by the Bureaucrats. They are not the Elected body and as such should only be making recommendations. No way should the pencil pusher be responsible for policy.

Where Oda was wrong was by not standing up to say "this is my call and I am making it." Trying to side step the complaining, whining lefties just does not work.

So now you use fairy tales to make a point.

The point was that whenever anyone excuses bad behaviour by citing something worse, they are inviting something worse to happen. I guess for the crowd around here I have to be a little more explicit. Anyways, like Aesop's fables, the fictional story of the boy and the dyke has a lesson. Something worse, like the sea breaking through the dyke, or the scandals of Chretien's Liberals, is what we invite when we ignore smaller holes in the dyke...

Surely you've heard people say they'll hold their nose, until a better option comes around. Lesser evil. That spineless and large segment of our democracy is what allows corruption to creep in.

Imagine if an employer allowed that to happen. I have no idea why we allow our government to be that way. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy when we don't expect better from them, and excuse them because we like the colour of their shirts...

Chretiens govt was corruption run rampant - same with democracy - he ran the country the way he wanted to. Have you forgotten that???

Settle down and drink your coffee... just what the hell did you think I meant when I said they set the bar high? I guess my point flew over your head...

Congratulations.

For the first time ever in Canada and perhaps even for all parliamentary democracies a governing party has been found in contempt of parliament. A crime for which if convicted in a lesser setting, the court system, the perpetrator could be sent to prison!

What about the people who continue to support this Cabal of Conservative Conspiritors, who feel they have a right to ignore laws and rules of a nation and of parliament and to cheat with their election expenses, to proffer lies in the House of Commons and to hide and obscure to true costs and intents of its political self-serving agenda?

As this travesty of democracy comes to light one would hope that even the most simple-minded blind adherents to Conservative Ethicless philosophy would turn away in disgust.

This situation has gone beyond deniability , conservative supporters can no longer hold their noses, close their eyes, goosestep into the ballot booth and emerge with any warm fuzzies of self-righteousness. Any person who would now vote for Harpy and the Conmen must shed all trappings of honesty and accountability and be held responsible as accomplices in this crime against democracy.

How fitting it would be if these new prisons on the Conservative drawing boards could be filled with the very Conservatives who have turned Canadian politics and elections into a mud-slinging gang war.

WOW. Every place you put conservative I could replace it with Liberal and no one would know the difference.

I dunno.. Harper actually seems like a decent guy, but I can't support the wasteful spending on useless jets and the outright belligerence with respect to environmental matters. A decent economy just isn't worth it.

That said, the libs are just as paltry as the American democrats (and cons in disguise to boot!) - so Canada is playing the same game the U.S. is.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I might just go NDP this time.

Hey Tin Can, he fit all this in one continuous sentence.

Did you really call someone else retarded while posting this?

Excuse me?

That is idiotic.....right now we are flying 30 year old 4th generation fighters....luckily against an opponent not able to counter those effectively........

Our F-18 would be to 5th generation fighter (like the F-35) as Q'Daffy's Mig 25s are to us..........chewed up and spat out.

And I love how the anti-military people can see the future.........six weeks ago could you have dreamed we'd be in combat in North Africa?

Modern wars are come-as-you-are, and you'd best be well equipped. Our next opponent (and there will be one, there always is) might not be a third world country led by an incompetent looney.

I would hardly call the CF-18s a fourth generation fighter. Canada's F-18s have been upgraded to a point where they are very close to the Super Hornets the Americans are flying.

Also, we still don't need an intervention in Libya. So it's still wasted money.

So it's okay with you if some unelected dictator bombs the **** out of his own people because he wants to stay in
power? The UN thought a no fly zone was a good idea and so do most Arab countries.

It is a Civil War though. I hear what you are saying but the Rebels are armed and fighting. The only difference is that the Rebs were losing.

You must agree it is much more than a No Fly Zone.

If you ever forget the punch line of a joke, just say the Arab League and people will laugh anyways.
