I agree, let the other muslim countries get involved if they care about their fellow man.
Lybia is not our problem, let's stay out of it.

I don't think they need to be involved inside Lybia, just contain it within Lybia.

Whatever happens, just keep NATO the **** out of there.

Yep.

And who will be whining when Daffy uses air and armor to re-take rebel held cities, and then unleashes an orgy of blood-letting.....and we wind up with 500,000 dead.......and Daffy still in power, with a grudge to settle against the West for how quickly we abandoned him.

Remember Lockerbie?

Amazing how "soft power" and the "responsibility to protect" takes a backseat to the thickness of your wallet or the desire to keep your panties stain-free when it comes to the point of popping a few caps.

The best option is a very strict no fly zone, and as that in itself is a declaration of war, a couple of runs on armored units couldn't hurt.

This is too easy to fix.

But it needs to be done now......right now, ASAP, yesterday......

And it needs to be understood that the new bunch might well NOT be our buddy-buddies......but Daffy will be gone.

And that is a respectable end in itself.

Cry "Havoc", and let slip the dogs of war. The ones that can fly, that is.

Oh no question, the same ones that whine about Iraq and Afghanistan are the same ones that whine about Dafur and Libya. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Let the Euros handle this one.

Better yet, let the other Arab states handle it. That way, no one will distort it into another crusade.

Well, you know me.....I think another crusade is way past due........considering the Islamists are already fighting it.

But we don't have the cojones for it.

No, let the Muslim countries handle this, it's their fellow man that is being affected, let them deal with it and if they decide they want Lybia to solve it's own problem, then so be it, we stay OUT !!

I'm good with that too. But no Muslim country is going to aid Libya... Gaddafi or the Rebels.

Well, since it's the fanatical Islamicists who are waging it, let's let the fanatical Westboro Baptist Church fight them. And leave the rest out of people's religious fantasies.

Not me.

I doubt 500,000 will die but if they do why should I care?

It's an internal Lybian matter.

Did anyone catch The Fifth Estate last night? They did a great job on summarizing Gadhafi's history leading up to today's events. It's amazing how this guy hung on to power for so long given his track record of terrorism around the world. Here's a link.

It is apparent that the Westboro Baptists Church is supportive of fanatical islamist.

"GOD LOVES IEDs"

"GOD HATES DEAD SOLDIERS"

They stand on the US flag... praise 9-11, etc.

I'd post pictures but they say the F-G word a lot. It sounds like the Westboro Baptists and fanatical Islamist would get along nicely.

500,000 going down if NATO keeps it's dick in its pants.

Honestly, that bet is not going to happen....

First of all, we will never know. Once Daffy is done crushing the rebels, Lybia will go off the screen as we all line up to kiss his ass for oil.

NO RIMMING FOR OIL!

Secondly, I used the 500,000 as an illustration....it will be a blood bath....(did you see the pics of the soldiers burned alive for refusing to fire on peaceful protesters? Have you heard of the dissident massacres in the prisons a decade or two ago)

It might only be 300,000......and we will never know.

Yea, well, hehe the number 500,000 kind of.. hehe.. well.. kind of paints.. well.. you know.. a false picture of the future that.. heheh.. might give one an incredibly skewed belief.. It's that sort of anecdotal evidence and rhetoric that really ****s us up.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't there some legal question over whether or not a no fly zone could be instated? I listened to a retired general formerly with the UN, state very clearly that there was some question as to the legality of establishing one.

I am hoping that one of 'Daffy's' aides takes matters into his own hands and moves against him.

Probably.

But if you have the aircraft and the will... it can be instated. :)

Between NATO, the U.N. and the rest of the western nations, it always seems someone is hollering for the U.S. to "fix it".

We are broke folks - try and handle these messes on your own and see how expensive it is in both lives and economic issues.

Besides the U.S. should become self-reliant on its own oil mining resources and stop using oil as an excuse to avoid drilling what is plentiful and available.
